Discussion: Trump Says He 'Would Like To' Talk To Mueller's Team

I only hope he brings along Joe diGenova. Heavenly bliss! A lying, egotistical blowhard with an ego the size of Cleveland, Ohio who thinks he is smarter than a person like Robert Mueller, being represented by a lawyer who believes in conspiracy theories that Trump hired because he liked what diGenova said on FoxNews.
Trump will be lucky if he doesn’t end up getting the chair.

I think it’s true today. I think he might want Mueller turbo-fired tomorrow. The only constant is his undying admiration of strongmen in general and Putin in particular; everything else is ephemeral.

Just have Hillary and Obama Tweet that Trump doesn’t have the balls to testify under oath to Mueller. Lord Ladyfingers will be in Mueller’s office by Monday with his hand on a fucking Bible.

He totally can. Under oath.

Talk? Yes, but would he “like to” answer questions?

Donald doesn’t think Mueller has anything on him.
We know Mueller has EVERYTHING on him.
Trump just can’t comprehend, even with the advice of his lawyers, that a prosecutor like Mueller is not going to have a witness like Trump testify unless he already knows what Trump has done so he can catch him in his denials. Most witnesses would be petrified because they wouldn’t know what Mueller already knows, but Trump thinks he is soooo much smarter than Mueller that he doesn’t even have to know.

The ultimate crimes may be stunning. There’s the money-laundering, fraud, selling state secrets, obstruction, etc., but as we delve into, say, the shady banks in Cyprus, we could turn up some surprises like arms dealing, human trafficking, or smuggling. Why should a crime family limit its options?

Yup, and no way does it mean he will. So now on the record he proclaims the desire to speak with Mueller. But earlier this week he tweets that the investigation should not be happening, nor Mueller’s appointment, , and of course witch hunt.

This is an absolute lifelong pattern. And no matter how much the GOP—now a criminal conspiracy, essentially—enables and protects him, he’s going to destroy himself. Lifelong patterns tend to play out that way.

Agreed. This is PP’s Razor. It’s the stupidest possible explanation. He’s not afraid of Mueller. Why would he be? He’s never suffered any real consequences his entire life. Some people don’t believe something bad WILL happen, he doesn’t believe anything bad CAN happen. Like most everything else, he thinks he can talk his way out of trouble. He probably believes he can charm Mueller with his wit and flattery. Remember what he said after he first met with Obama? He believed Obama really liked him. Despite everything he’d said about the man, his administration, his everything, PP still thought he had charmed Obama into liking him. That’s just how egotistical and stupid he is. So, it only make sense that he thinks he can do the same with Mueller, that he’d want to dominate him and win him over.

It also explains why he won’t even pretend to have beef with Russia or Putin. He’s just dumb enough to believe that as long as he plays nice, continues to flatter, Putin won’t release the goods on him. He’s still trying to woo and charm him into being his friend. And he thinks he can do the same thing with Mueller. It’s stunning.

Trump thinks he’s going to speak to Mueller and treat him like the owner of some drywall company.

“Thanks for helping to build my casino. Now, as to those invoices? Fuck off.”

Please, please, please proceed, Mr. President. You know you have bestest brain ever. You’re way smarter than those little lawyers. Don’t let them stand in your way. Use your own great thoughts. You know those deep state people can’t stand up to you. Go ahead, sit down with the witch hunter and put an end to all this.

You’re not mistaken. At any point, PP can be subpoenad to appear before the grand jury just as Clinton was.

D’Oh-tard Donnie says all kinds of lying crap that means precisely nothing. The truth is what he does at any given moment, and that is mostly bungled too. Muller’s team is just being polite and offering a chance to tell his side of the story in spite of their low expectations.

Mueller can subpoena Trump, but the decision to do so is fraught with political landmines. First, Trump’s team could challenge the subpoena in court. Even if Trump loses that fight (and probably would) it could delay the testimony by years. Second, subpoenaing the President could push him towards firing Mueller and starting a constitutional crisis. It may ultimately lead to Trump’s impeachment, but Mueller has every reason to want to avoid this scenario. Lastly, it could galvanize Trump’s supporters and unleash a barrage of anti-Mueller, anti-deep state, anti-FBI hysteria on the right, further politicizing the probe and casting doubt on its findings. Whether any of these scenarios would play out as described is anyone’s guess. But no doubt the potential for further prolonged turmoil would weigh heavily on Mueller and his team.
