Is an anchor baby in Canada a ‘Canchor Baby’?
Cruz would be the most likely of all candidates, both parties, to be called a Canchor Baby.

In Canada children born to foreign nationals are not called “anchor babies”. They are called Canadian citizens.
That’s why Palin would be his perfect running mate.
The difference being?
Trump is doing Ornette Coleman doing Philip Glass. “Ok, you guys play a basic “C” blues and I’ll just hammer on F# for a while”.
We WE’RE winning. But then, we got tired of it. I’ve told you folks before: when I’m president, we’ll win SO MUCH, you’ll all get tired of it. You will. So, I throw in some losers, keep you interested. You’ll love that, trust me.
“Ted Cruz is an anchor baby in Canada,” Trump said, referring to Cruz’s birth in Calgary, Canada to a Cuban father and American mother. “But Canada doesn’t accept anchor babies.”
***Trump is speaking, so he must be lying.***
***In general, everyone born in Canada from 1947 or later acquires Canadian citizenship at birth.*** In one 2008 case, a girl born to a Ugandan mother aboard a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Boston was deemed a Canadian citizen for customs purposes because she was born over Canada's airspace.[7]
The only exceptions concern children born to diplomats, where additional requirements apply.
Section 3(2) of the current act states that Canadian citizenship is not granted to a child born in Canada if either parent was a diplomatic or consular officer or other representative at the time of birth and neither parent was a Canadian citizen or Canadian permanent resident.[8]
However, should the immigration status of the parents of such persons change to permanent resident, a child may be granted citizenship immediately, or when the parents acquire citizenship through naturalization, at the discretion of Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Most of the Republican candidates are claiming that the standing of the United States has declined under the Obama administration and, at the same time, their race for the Presidential nomination has made a mockery of our political process and made our country’s reputation as an inspiration to the rest of the world suspect.
Oh, I think nuking a bunch of women, children and non-combatants in Hiroshima and Nagasaki disabused the world of our inspirational qualities.
Trump speaks like a 3rd grader does!
This is so delicious. Trump is the bull in the GOP’s china shop, crashing to the ground each of their pretenses to civility and statesmanship. He exposes the naked id of the party, its celebration of grasping greediness, its cowardly fear of the other, whether homosexual, nonwhite, female, or Muslim, and its disdain for the less fortunate in spite of its self-proclaimed Christian charity.
Should his stylings be considered akin to punk rock then?
I finally have come to the conclusion that the popularity of Trump’s campaign is so enduring because as a campaign, it’s pretty good. It just isn’t an appropriate campaign for the Presidency, but it IS a kick ass campaign for a steak house, and people like a steak house!
This is a feature, not a bug. He is mobilizing people who haven’t been addressed by politicians in recent memory. His actual ideas are despicable, but by addressing so many who feel left out because they can’t even follow the conversation, he is attracting a mass of supporters who not only drink up his unexpectedly intelligible words but also are swayed to his point of view.
Question: Cruz says he’s a natural-born American because his Mom was born in the US. But since his Dad was born in Cuba, doesn’t that make Cruz a natural-born Cuban too?
I think Cruz’s real allegiances are with the Castros, both Fidel and Raúl.
Pied piper of derp?

LOL.
We were having the punk rock discussion on another thread
Both Trump and Cruz are dangerous. I couldn’t vote for either one. All this aside from the fact that Cruz was born in Canada and that his mother was on the voting list there. It makes Cruz ineligible to be POTUS.
spit take
One off the main pillars of his campaign is based on the idea that only him and his supporters are ‘True Americans’ and everyone else is an outside threat that needs to be removed from the country. First it was hispanics, then muslims and now conservative politician with a Canadian mother. The only thing so shocking is how many supporters he has for this.
