I wish you were correct about Trump’s supporters, but sadly the polls show that the situation is much more dire. The reality shields are still working strongly on those fools.

But that’s the whole point. Trump’s supporters ignore everything Trump says and does, just as they’ve been doing since before the election. If you just quote Trump’s words to a Trump Supporter, they consider it an attack and will tell you what he “really” meant and you’re the idiot for daring to take his words literally. Even Trump’s supporters are smarter than Trump.

In reality, Trump has zero influence on anyone but Trump. It’s Hannity, Limbaugh, and rightwing religious leaders who tell these people what to think; including Trump. I deal with Trump Supporters every day and haven’t met one who actually defended the real Trump. It’s all about how Crooked Hillary and the media are worse. Once Trump’s out of office, they’ll forget he ever existed; just like they did with Bush.

I wish you were correct about Trump’s supporters, but sadly the polls show that the situation is much more dire. The reality shields are still working strongly on those fools. (I’m using ‘fools’ because I’ve been told that ‘idiots’ is a trigger word for his snowflake supporters)

I’ve wondered about the current MAGA temperature, so I actually just tracked down the most virulent supporter I know to see what he’d say. He’s one of the best debaters among them I know, which is not saying much except that ad hominem is usually only a second recourse. But so far I’ve experienced these ripostes: He’s already condemned the Russians, so this doesn’t matter. Too long, didn’t read. And “Yeah, but what did Obama do?”

I can’t imagine they’ve got anything better. But those shields are clearly holding strong for the proud supporters who are still wildly flailing about.
