Discussion: Trump Responds After Mueller Statement: 'The Case Is Closed!'

“…There was insufficient evidence and therefore, in our Country, a person is innocent. The case is closed! Thank you.”

You keep using those words, Mr. President. I do not think they say or mean what you wish for them to say or mean.

You have to admit though it was remarkably restrained for him. Nothing about 18 angry Dems or treason only professing innocent until proven and his trademark NO COLLUSION NO OBSTRUCTION was notably not there.

Yep, no new info, but Dems must definitely create a bumper sticker message to counter Trump!

If he had done nothing else wrong in his life, the bad karma for the Central Park Five alone would be enough to sink him. And that was not the only bad thing he did.

If impeachment occurs wouldn’t Mueller and his team have to answer all questions posed to them. How a question is asked can determine the answer so, in spite of wanting to rely on verbatim quotes from his report, they might have to answer very pointed questions that don’t follow their text.

He doesn’t really seem like person where evidence is ever a factor.

He plays with the idea of killing others fairly frequently and has done so for a very long time.

There is a chasm between “insufficient evidence” and innocence. While our criminal courts require proof beyond a reasonable doubt, there is no such guarantee in the Constitution for impeachment hearings and trials.

For once Dotard was right…

President Donald Trump responded to news of special counsel Robert Mueller’s 2017 appointment by telling then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions that he was “fucked,” according to a redacted version of Mueller’s report released Thursday.

“Oh my God,” the president told Sessions, according to the report. “This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I’m fucked.”

AS soon as Trump leaves office, he should be charged with obstruction and put on trial. Whether by the feds or at the state level, either way is okay, as long as he’s convicted and sent to jail.

In other words: This Case Is Not Closed.

Well, he’s right. If Trump had been treated fairly, he’d be sitting behind bars in a state or federal penitentiary.

Trying really hard to justify his demand that congress leave it alone and let it rest. I won. Democrats on the other hand want to have the luxury of studying the report and informing the public of what it contains to possibly sway public opinion.

It’s not his decision whether or not he testifies. It’s Congress’s. Needs to be public. Needs further questioning. Needs nuance. And if he balks…subpoena him. Committees have to start playing hardball…

You wish, possum-head!

The case is closed?

Hardly, you criminal.

That’s his signal that the audience with His Eminence is over.
