Remember when The Republican majorities in both houses sent that better, cheaper, cover everybody health care plan he touted during the campaign, and the R’s had been crowing about for SEVEN YEARS, to the White House for Trump’s autograph? Yeah, me neither.
Senate sends immigration bill to the House, and Republican House can’t pass it. Donald and his Republican House try and fail to send any immigration bill to the Senate. You can see how this all the fault of Senate Democrats and will be totally fixed when the Senate is more than 60% Republican.
I enjoy my morning and peruse TPM w a nice cup of coffee. Checking the time stamp on Tweeto’s tweets always gives me little satisfaction. It’s nice to know he’s up enjoying his early mornings in a fit of sociopathic rage.
So every very depressing opinion piece in the NYT today is about the unbridled ugliness, propaganda, parallels to the years up to the Holocaust in Germany, etc., etc., with one commentor asking: We all know all of this. What we don’t know is how to fight it. This is indeed correct. The ballot box is obviously one way. But it does seem existentially despairing when contemplating how to stop the ignorance, lying, and vitriol. Sorry … just feeling particularly hopeless today … How indeed to fight it?
It’s almost like that whole “all will bow down” thing was a load of crap, you’re not celebrity-in-chief, this job is no fun at all, and actually it’s super stressful even when you’re not the patriarch of a crime family that would make the Godfather blush.
