I don’t know how things are going, but I understand that Trump’s MO is to increase disruption, rather than stabilize. If there are huge demonstrations, and one person from Antifa hits a Nazi, you can expect Trump to practically declare martial law.
If elections go against the Republicans next year, Trump will be held in check; if not, who knows.
Yes, which is the truly diabolical part of this. Because ICE will waste no time in going after each and every one, precisely because they DO have a file on each one. They came up on the radar voluntarily. And that act will be used to destroy their lives.
This isn’t being aimed at rest of America…the ones who do care about those stories. Its aimed at the deplorables that Trump has been courting since day 1. And they will whoop and hollar at each and every story, high fiving themselves that they got rid of another one of “them”.
Trump’s defense against the inevitable impeachment proceedings is going to be that part of his base. He wants them even more deeply committed to him so he can kick them into a violent frenzy in the streets to intimidate Congress, even a Democratic Congress…against acting. “Impeach me, and thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, will die in the streets.” will be the dare.
Chickenshit! Having KKK Sessions do his dirty work. Whatta putz!
Yes, and when the military and National Guard let loose with the machine guns they’ll be trained on the citizens pushing back against the fascists. You know, because they were about to assault peaceful citizens merely gathered to support their President and organize for lawful continuance of the current government.

send a pretty clear message.
The last time it was tested in the Courts was after Scalia died…it was 4-4. It seems highly likely that Gorsuch will vote with the conservatives and make it 5-4. There is a possibility that Kennedy may swing his vote (they don’t publish opinions on ties, so we don’t actually know the thinking behind the 4-4 decision), but I wouldn’t count on it.
Very doubtful that is going to happen. In the age of Trumpism, immigration reform is even more red hot than it was in 2013. The GOP won’t touch it, and I seriously doubt they can sucker anyone like they did Rubio to step up and be that poster child again.
Brings back memories of Doyle Lonnigan. “Not only are you a cheat; you’re a gutless cheat as well.”
This is way too bleak for me on what is essentially a Monday morning.
Trump is President. Bleak is the new normal.
Easy way out. Resign.
Like others above, I don’t think they’ll get to it. Six months is the beginning of next march. This year is spoken for, next year will have yet another budget plus a bunch of other crises, and DACA is just the kind of thing that the GOP really doesn’t want to deal with. So color them all shocked and surprised when the deportations start.
I think they get to it, in some fashion. But I agree with many both Trump and some members of Congress will turn it into a blackmail scheme, attempting to extort concessions from Dems and the few remaining sane GOPers in exchange for passage. Once that process starts the entire kitchen sink of pet causes gets thrown in, everyone knowing it’ll get whittled down to one or two Trump really cares about. This DACA fight, combined with everything else needing done, is going to make for a very ugly next several months or more.
P.S.-Houston gets screwed. Mark it.
Punting on the first down…
Why is Trump such a coward? Sad!
What’s most galling about Trump’s militantly rabid anti-Latino animus is the likelihood it won’t cost the GOP at the polls in the midterms or in 2020. Republicans have fought against causes dear to immigrants for a generation or more. Yet as we see below the level of Latino support for Republican Presidential candidates is fairly static, give or take a couple points either side of 30%. Why in the hell 30% of Latinos would vote for Trump in 2020 is a puzzle, but they will. Trump has no motivation to cater to immigrants when studying electoral history.
Obama said, if Congress won’t pass comprehensive immigration law, he would order DACA. Trump pledges he would end DACA. So, all you sixth graders, please help Trump figure out how to ask Congress to go ahead with passing comprehensive immigration law. Trump is the silliest 12 year old in America. Or, he is simply a vile human being determined to hurt as many Americans as possible, including our undocumented.
Sure , because being honest about it being a disaster for millions and having tho courage to make a difficult decision that would benefit real human beings would be too much for this irresponsible little pimp.
What a coward Trump is. He’ll leave the announcement to Sessions…the man who lied to Congress.
This is very simple, Donnie. Just stab people in the back, but for good instead of for evil. It’s not like anybody believes anything you promised them anyway.
