Discussion: Trump Rejects Calls To Abolish ICE: 'Zero Chance, It Will Never Happen!'

True. He is correct.

It will not happen. Not on his watch.

However, the next Democratic Congress or President could choose to de-fund or shut down the organization.

That WILL happen.

The slapdown of a black Dem leader by two white Dem leaders is noted.

Distract attention from the Mueller investigations by kidnapping children and placing them in secret prisons?

Awesome marketing.

You beat me to that punch. I’d copied the same statement, so thanks for pooh poohing it in your brilliant inimitable style. It deserved that royally.

ICE causes pain and suffering so Trump is behind them 100%.

Do either of you think that Trump knows the difference between ICE and CPS? And what’s up with him picking favorites in the alphabet soup of law enforcement agencies? Next week or next month will it be the US Marshals or Sheriffs?

Well, what would you expect him to say?

It’s like asking Himmler or Eichmann to do away with their Einsatzgruppen.

This comment begs the question: what towns, exactly, have been “liberated from the grasp of MS-13”? Names and states please.

And while I’m at it, “eradicating the worst criminal elements” means what, exactly? Pulling asylum-seeking families apart and jailing the children? Or are boxcars involved?

As far as actual criminal elements go, ICE agents have been pulled en masse from actual drug and gun trafficking cases to enforce Trump’s zero-tolerance policy against legal asylum seekers. It’s probably easier to now to engage in actual cross-border criminal actions than it was before.

Well, in TrumpSpeak, that probably means he’s seen ICE ethnically cleanse some places of most of their brown people. After all, they’re all MS-13 in his blinkered view of things.

Please stop saying we want to abolish ICE. I was talking someone who does not like Trump, but this was over the top for him, as this is saying the same as having open borders. Most people in America don’t want open borders, but ICE is the only agency that has the mandate to enforce our immigration and importation laws. I worked with U.S. Customs agents before the ICE agency was created and several were upset that they were going to become Immigration agents. It was created when Department of Homeland Security was created. The agents of U.S. Customs were under the Dept. of Treasury, enforcing importation laws, fraud related to the importation of goods, including drugs. The Immigration agents that were combined with U.S. Customs agents is doing what ICE is now doing. Enforcing immigration laws, which prior to DHS was under NIS. So ICE is a combination of these two legacy agencies under different departments, and it never was an easy combination. Customs agents did not want to become immigration agents, but it appears that is what they have become, and the importers have been given a pass on enforcement.

Bolton line, Please stop saying that we want to abolish ICE (have open borders and importations) , what we should say, is that ICE is just to big to manage. That it was a mistake to combine these two agents divisions, and separate them again, and have a strong Immigration leader that will now allow focus on the immigration laws, and not allow these outrageous acts of our government.

They’re going to have to bury him at sea in an unmarked location like OBL just to keep the likes of you away. Lol.

Anticipating Trump on ICE, any day now.

It ASKS that question—and a damned good question, too.

Begging the question is a logical fallacy in which the conclusion is stated as part of the premise.
It NEVER involves an actual question.

That’s not what abolishing ICE means. Sheesh.

Maybe the word “restructuring” would be more palatable? Because your stories about reluctant agents being pulled from one bureaucracy to another with resulting disfunction is kind of the point. Reorganize it, and good lord, call it something else!
