Discussion: Trump Praises 'Great Talent On The Ground' After Harvey Makes Landfall

“Great” talent like Gov. Abbott, who implied that people should evacuate Houston, even though there was no evacuation order in place?

Harris County’s top elected GOP official calls Gov. Abbott’s evacuation comment ‘a mistake’

Nothing like creating confusion in a metropolitan area of over 2.5 million.

“Many people are now saying that this is the worst storm/hurricane they have ever seen.¨

Many people are now saying that you are the most malicious and dangerous fuck who´s ever been in the WH.

Really.

Yesterday on The Weather Channel the meteorologist said there was nowhere to evacuate that many people because inland rainfall was expected to be incredibly high too. In all fairness, those people are in serious trouble either relocating or staying.

And of course he wants to be on the ground asap

I’m right in the middle of it. (Albeit on the 4th floor of a mid-rise). Gov. Abbott is an idiot. Thank Dog the liquor store was still open when I got home Saturday.

There is even some humor.

“Fuck it. I’m outta here. taking my food, too.”

Per the Houston Chronicle, 107 people died during the Hurricane Rita evacuation. For Abbott to just throw out the suggestion that people leave, especially apparently without coordinating with the mayor, could have caused a disaster. And the worst, I think, is that the reason he did so was to just cover his ass politically.

And, guess what, it’s happening during my administration and we’re handling it. The best people. We’re handling it.

No Katrina. No Katrina. You’re Katrina.

From what I can tell before last night heaviest rainfall was in area bounded by College Station / Austin / San Antonio / Houston dipping south of IH-10 to Victoria and Corpus Christi.

Since last night looks like Katy to College Station and all points east hammered at biblical levels.

It’s basically a ginormous water pump sucking Gulf moisture into east and central Texas that moved to an area centered about midway between Kenedy and Cuero (29.0N 97.6W) and came to a stop.

So you’re right - where would 4+ million people go?

Houston area is hitting 500-year marks,

Buffalo and Brays Bayou on the west side of The Loop are climbing out of their banks due to torrential rainfall. Floodwaters in In addition, Mary’s Creek in Friendswood has surged out its banks, surpassing its 500-year water mark.

Zombie apocalypse scenario: He moves back over the Gulf to recharge and then comes back.

In the last eight hours #Harvey’s basically backed up about 30 miles and is projected to continue backing up S/SE. Right towards the Gulf.

Well, he can’t very well say our thoughts and prayers are with the people of the Gulf Coast, can he?
He doesn’t think and he doesn’t pray.

That’s what The Weather Channel is claiming will likely happen.

Don’t forget those “talented” Senators -Cruz and Cornyn -who callously denied aid to Hurricane Sandy victims without an offset, but will hypocritically ask for no strings aid for their state.

Which is how it should be for all disaster victims, imo.

His standard MO: don will continue to tweet positive lies about the situation in Houston, and his followers will believe he’s telling them the truth - no matter what they hear from others or see themselves on news broadcasts. He is fully aware of this…

Is Trump and the GOP Congress going to run up the deficit every time their Fossil Fuels policies cause another Global Warming catastrophe? Are Republicans going to make Abbot and the people of Texas wait for mercy just like those in NJ and NY were after Hurricane Sandy?

If Abbot hugs that fascist Trump, will he be rewarded instead of shunned like Christie was for hugging a black man?

That is a dog with some sense right there.
