… and then they turned the Teleprompter off, and the words he had so laboriously read from it floated away, never to be heard again.

Trump: “This is my pledge to you: We will confront anti-Semitism”.

Then he announced an Anti-Semitism Task Force, to be co-chaired by Steve Bannon and Sebastian Gorka.

No place for Alex Jones in that group?!

He’s in a really creepy zone, and he should get off this topic. He’s proven beyond all doubt he has no intention of “confronting” anti-Semitism. He should just STFU about it.

There are two things always to remember about Trump.

  1. He will tell you what he thinks you want to hear.
  2. He has almost no understanding of what norms are or why they’re a good thing.

When you hear him say wildly conflicting things in different settings, remember number 1. When you hear him say appalling, shocking things because some audience wants to hear that, remember number 2. And number 1. That’s really all you need to know about Donald Trump, besides that he’s incredibly, pathologically ignorant, and severely mentally ill.

Have a nice Tuesday!

I think we all know how much a “pledge” from Trump is worth. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zero. Bupkis.

“I am the least anti-Semitic person you’ve ever seen in your entire life,” Trump claimed.

Wouldn’t “the least anti-Semitic person” almost by definition be a Semitic person?

That’s the best (short) description I’ve read for what comes out of his mouth.

Ah, yes. University campuses. It’s the student left and the moose-lambs, not the rumpled old rageboner of a “nationalist” choreographing an edgy, Information Age update of the Hitler Youth from the office next door.

Newsflash: You’re confronting anti-Semitism every time you chat with Steve Bannon…and Doctor Sebastian Gorka…and Stephen Miller…and Jeff Sessions…and

That’s going to be a tricky two-step for him considering a not insignificant proportion of his supporters are anti-Semites, and are represented in the WH by several high level staff.

With Trump, you have to see what he does not listen to what he says. So unless he fires Gorka, Bannon, et. al., it’s just hot air.

And then he tweeted an image of Pepe the frog with the #JustKidding.

Where’s the red tie? I was starting to think he either has a red tie fetish, or is really superstitious about the really, really long red ties.

Ya I noticed, because I wasn’t paying attention to what he is saying for all the reasons cited up above.

How about confronting it in your own administration fuckhead.

He sounds very presidential. I think the pivot is well underway. Every celebrity media voice in DC got a least a little boner today.

First thing we have to acknowledge is that Trump did no write that speech. Hell, he could barely read it. The second is that he does not understand at least half of the words that came out of his mouth. This is a man that does not read, has no historical perspective (e.g., Who knew that healthcare was hard?), and lacks empathy. If he were serious, he would have fired Bannon and Gorka before he started the speech.

How about some awareness that “stand[ing] with the Jewish people” and blind support of Israel are not necessarily the same thing?
