Discussion: Trump 'Pleased' Dems 'Have Come To Their Senses' On Funding Bill

Whatever happy thoughts get you through the night, sunshine. Meanwhile, you are a despicable, selfish fool who doesnā€™t belong anywhere near the levers of power. Hopefully, your reign of terror will come to a swift end.

ā€˜Come To Their Sensesā€™?

Fine, Feb 8th will be here soon and everyone will be watching to see if Democrats have indeed ā€˜come to their sensesā€™.

Thing is, he really is out of his element. Heā€™s so far out of his element that he doesnā€™t know heā€™s out of his element.

Ever the clueless idiot. He really doesnā€™t have a clue as to what is going on. And of course blithely ignores that McConnell and then Cornyn are responsible for not ā€œpaying the troopsā€ during the shutdown when each of them in turn object to bring up a measure that would do exactly that. Hereā€™s Sen. McCaskill bringing it up and McConnell objecting on Friday night:

Hereā€™s Sen. Duckworth bringing it up and Cornyn objecting on last night:

In short, he is fucking lying (again)

ā€œI am pleased that Democrats in Congress have come to their senses and are willing to fund our great military, border patrol, first responders, and insurance for vulnerable children.

On Thursday evening, as the Senate debated the Republican tax plan, Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) asked whether thereā€™s ā€œsomething we can do to get the childrenā€™s health insurance program done.ā€

Hatchā€™s response, in a nutshell: Yes, weā€™ll fund the program, but weā€™re really short on money.

And itā€™s got to be done the right way,ā€ Hatch said. ā€œBut the reason CHIPā€™s having trouble is because we donā€™t have money anymore, and to just add more and more spending and more and more spending, and you can look at the rest of the bill for the more and more spending.ā€

Sanders said that the White House was happy that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) accepted ā€œthe deal that President Trump put on the table from the beginning, which was to responsibly fund the government and debate immigration as a separate issue,ā€

I guess weā€™re not gonna talk about CHIP being funded for six years and money for the community health centers BACK in the bill. Iā€™ve heard funding for ā€˜the wallā€™ is out too. Letā€™s all pretend the Cons won by hyping fear and loathing for immigrants.

Trump - " our great military, border patrol, first responders, "

Sounds like the cast of every American prime time TV show!

I foresee a future where the government is funded week-to-week, so President Donnie can appear on TV every Friday night at a boardroom table set to sombrely announce his decision after a tension-building pause with a low synthesizer note on the soundtrack. Maybe he can come up with a thumbs-up/thumbs-down catchphrase.

I see the occupant and his spokeswoman donā€™t know how to win gracefully. The next time I would be tempted to burn the whole thing down.

Loved that Senator Duckworth referred to the asshole as ā€œCadet Bonespurs.ā€

Next time around (Feb 8) the only issue will be DACA. The Democrats have 3 weeks to build the public pressure for that moment. If the Republicans fail to act, they will be the pro-Dreamer deportation party.
