Discussion: Trump On Racist Ad: 'We Have A Lot Of Ads, And They Certainly Are Effective'

I wonder what would happen if reporters started to treat Trump like he treats them? Oh I know it would take him awhile to figure out that they are mirroring his style, I know he won’t change, but what the hell go for it.

They are effective - effective in getting sentient people with critical thinking skills to turn the channel when one of these tropes is broadcast.

Trump doesn’t know about the ad? He tweeted it out on Halloween! This is a pants on fire lie.

Halloween was almost a week ago. I am sure he can remember back more than 20 minutes

“A lot of things are offensive,” he responded. “Your questions are offensive, a lot of the time, so you know.”

Generalize the issue to to move the focus past himself.

Project the issue back on to the questioner.

Classic.

If I’m not mistaken this is: “I know you are, but what am I ?” slightly reworded.

What a putz!

ETA: @justruss Stated more elegantly. My compliments, sir!

Unfortunately, that would require far more integrity and intestinal fortitude than most in the Fourth Estate have been showing recently.

Reminds me of Kavanaugh. “Did I black out? I dunno. Do you, Senator?”

The one thing I notice is how he preambles by moving it far away from his sphere. It is like verbal misdirection. Now you see me, now you don’t. This falls into his “Many people tell me” remarks as well. There is always that shoving it away.

Ah, the restraint. I actually expect Trump to just shoot back with, “Screw you, m-fer,” any day now.

Where’s the ad telling soybean farmers that they’re not going to go broke because of trade policies.

Brandon Hokama, whose family farms 3,500 acres near Ellendale, N.D., estimates that they need a price of $8.75 per bushel of soybeans to break even. Last year at this time, soybeans could be sold for almost $10 per bushel. Now, local elevators are offering prices below $7.
