Just did myself. Oh dear. But of course mine’s not much better. Still—let’s just say she seems to hover over him, always with reach. Gives me a pang. There’s not a way in which I don’t pity that kid.
The way she hovers tells me that she’s a better mother than Ivana ever was. After seeing all the pictures I’ve seen of Trump and Ivanka, when Ivanka was still a child, I want to know where the fuck Ivana was when they were taken.
And don’t get me started on Uday and Qusay.
Do I have to remind you about “puppet”?
I always liked Jake Peavy. His running onto the field prematurely after Travis Ishikawa’s homer (because he can’t see) is a very fond memory.
Good point. Dumb Donnie manages to do some of Mueller’s work for him.
Quite a lot actually.
Trump and Flynn are grandiose and delusional. Flynn probably knew that Trump had been told that he, Flynn, had lied to the FBI. I imagine that Trump assured Flynn that he would control the FBI and should fear nothing. Trump and Flynn may have explicitly shared a hope that they could conspire with the Russians. Those likelihoods represent the conspiracy that Mueller can probably demonstrate. But I think that’s all Mueller has, an illegal but empty conspiracy. I doubt the Russians ever would have committed to coordinating with such crazies. I fear that Trump could easily wave away such a conspiracy charge. Nothing came of the conspiracy.
The best is that the Cipriani waiters were handing out hundreds of Bellinis to the crowd.
Yeah, me too. Such a passionate guy on the pitcher’s mound, sometimes to the point that it was almost painful to watch him. You could see him muttering obscenities to himself when things weren’t going right. I think he got a handle on that eventually.
I like what Lithwick writes, and her beat is SCOTUS. But I can’t agree with her. It took 19 months between Nixon’s inauguration and the day he resigned, with a nudge from some fellow Rs, and if 2018 plays out anywhere near the way we’re told it will, we’ll see R support for trumpp fall away. It will actually begin to fall away if and when (because House version of the bill is still in the air), PP signs it. But mainly I’ve taken something Gertrude Stein said to my heart and will not get prematurely hysterical
“Let me listen to me and not to them”
– Gertrude Stein
Just a bunch of youthful, uninformed kids at the NYC protest trying to challenge conventional society:
Why don’t you get a job, you hippies! Oh, you have a cardiology practice on the Upper West Side? Uh, well, carry on, then, you elitists.
Burr has already said that about Donnie calling him to pressure for an end to the Senate investigation. You laugh, I laugh, but his pubic public thinks that a just-fine defense.
Trump screwed himself and others in his administration hard with this tweet:
I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 2, 2017
What Trump did here is admit to obstruction of justice. He knew Flynn lied to the FBI. Then he pressured the FBI director to end the investigation into Flynn. He also pushed many other individuals to try to end the FBI and congressional inquiries (Adm Rogers, Dir. Coats, Sen/House Rs).
The tweet also causes us to ask, ‘How did Trump know what Flynn told the FBI?’ That interview was on Jan 24, 2017, day 4 of the Trumpocalypse. Obama didn’t tell him. No nat sec person would’ve told him. Comey would not have told him. It’s quite likely that Trump orchestrated that lie and told Flynn to lie.
Comey went to Sally Yates and Yates took the matter to McGahn. However, it seems that Yates did not specifically tell McGahn what Flynn did (because they suspected, correctly, that Flynn was covering for Trump and that McGahn telling Trump would compromise the investigation). It was the next day (January 27) that Trump first invited Comey to the WH for dinner and asked for a loyalty pledge. That was Trump subtly telling Comey to back off Flynn. So Trump likely knew about what happened in that Flynn-FBI interview within a day after it happened (and no later than Jan 26).
It’s also possible that Flynn didn’t know that those particular calls would be discussed and just lied and told Trump, expecting Trump to protect him, which he tried but failed to do.
In addition, if Trump believed all of these actions during the Transition were legal, did he authorize them? Did he authorize the conspiracy to subvert US policy? Did he instruct KT McFarland or Jared Kushner as to what Flynn should tell Kislyak about the UN Resolution and the RU sanctions?
Conspiracy.
The Trump organization conspired with Russian organized crime to break laws and savagely violate our deepest traditional American values, in order to get Trump in a position to enrich them and himself.
Ivana got custody of all the spawn after the divorce, which suited PP to a T because he’s no kind of father, but I suspect she was a grievance filled mother who pounded on their father every chance she got. She also got lots of money and real estate including an estate in Greenwich. She’ll never go on the record criticizing him.
I can’t wait for the “total shock” look when he is handed his indictment papers.
Come on Mueller, get the show rolling a little faster, I need a super duper super big x=mas present.
It would be much better than than the tax increase present I might get stuck with.
The bill required the Trump administration to issue by October 1 “regulations or other guidance to specify the persons that are a part of, or operate for or on behalf of, the defense and intelligence sectors of the Government of the Russian Federation.” The administration has yet to do so. The Treasury and State departments also have not issued guidance on their plans for imposing the measure, a Senate aide said. The aide said that members of the White House’s National Security Council have assured senators that they are “getting to” the sanctions and “it’s gonna happen.”
He’s done nothing required of him under this bill, signed with overwhelming support of both parties.
Who cares? They are the minority of a minority. Under ordinary circumstances they are the idiot 25-30% every population has and they wouldn’t be able to pick governments - under ordinary circumstances. Our election was not ordinary.
I don’t care one damn bit about them. They were picked out by DataAnalytics specifically for their psychological attachment to strong men and authoritarianism, as well as their gullibility. They are hopeless.
Comrades, no need to make elephant out of fly.
