I was thinking the same thing. He must want to deflect from something in the news about himself, and move onto another story for everyone to focus on. So now its Megyn Kelly again. As soon as he gets the media to talk about Megyn Kelly or whateverā¦boom, heās already on to the next faux non-story for the press to report on. He does it relentlessly, and still the media hasnāt learned that before they can address one thing with any depth, they move onto the next shiny object drumpf manages to throw out. Its gotten so old and predictable, its just one more example of the way the media allows themselves to be constantly manipulated by this absurd tactic, and their willingness to go along with it every single fucking time.

The words one uses often reveals what the mind (what little he has btw!) is really thinking regardless of what is spoken. Notice that here and in past statements Trump uses the word āhotā or āhottestā whenever Kelly is mentioned:
" Watch. Now, in the meantime, sheās benefited greatly. Sheās hotter now than ever before because of me."
Now most people would say āher ratings are hotter than everā or āher show is hotter than everā. But thatās not what he said, now is it? SHEāS HOTTER THAN EVER!
Yes, as others have well pointed out, heās just like a schoolboy with unrequited love for Kelly. He thinks sheās so, so hot he has to have her. Any woman, especially one he regards as powerful, who spurns his advances actually has gained the upper hand on himā¦and he canāt stand it!

Two things stood out to me from these quotes:

He always has to āget somethingā for everything he does. Never can just do something quietly because it would be good or helpful. Even if all he āgetsā out of any act is to be able to tell people what a great guy he is for doing it, he always has to get something out of it.

Half her salary should be a rounding error to him. He doesnāt want the money, he just wants the āgetā and to take it away from someone else. In other words, he doesnāt even care if he can use what he gets, he just wants to make sure he gets something from the person to prove his dominance.
