Originally NK was open to meeting with trump because as president of the US he gave them legitimacy on the world stage. Now he’s meeting with them to bolster his legitimacy.

Don’t forget, when NK says “denuclearization”, they don’t mean them. They mean US goes first. Then maybe, after they think about it for a decade or so, they might possibly consider getting rid of their nukes. Maybe…

Being as Putin is trying to restore the former glory that was the USSR maybe NK is part of that plan. After all, when NK gained its “independence” it was granted by, you guessed it, the Soviet Union; Kim Jong-il was Stalin’s puppet.
