I suspect when trump referred to ‘many republicans’, he was talking about the public at large, not some crackpot GOP congressmen. It would be interesting if TPM occasionally canvassed opinion from outside the swamp.

Single payer healthcare is a thing. He promised to replace Obamacare with something, better, cheaper and that would cover everyone. Single payer would do that. It would be a UUUGGGE win.

Ok, officially, when Trump says “many people like” something he’s doing, it means that he knows that NO ONE… NOT ONE PERSON likes what he’s doing. His language is simple to translate once you develop an ear for it.
