GWB had a plan in 2005-2006 and ran into the GOP House Majority.
He supported DACA and immigration reform. Why donât we take him at his word and put our specific proposal on the table. He may take it, he may reject it, he may be willing to split from the House Freedom Caucus. If he backs away, then he is on record as backing away. But I thought the key phrase was âYou put a bill on my desk and I will sign it.â He didnât say there had to be a wall.
If I read between the lines of our comments here, we are a little afraid that Trump may morph from the dangerous monster that has marked his presidency so far, to a guy who would rather not lose every constituency in America except old white guys.
And this is why his lawyers donât want him talking directly with Mueller.
There was a punctuation error in the transcript. What DT said was: âAnd I donât think. Itâs going to be that complicated.â
It is so patently obvious that this man has no idea as to how government actually works. Thatâs what I call âsad!â
This seems like a noteworthy stylistic change. Substantively, I still hear âGOP powerplay continuesâ: Trump explicitly said heâll let them write any law they want. But the presentation is markedly different.
I really wonder what was said at Camp David.
Maybe itâs clean living in anticipation of his upcoming physical? As needled as I think he has been by attacks on his competency, heâs never demonstrated that he has an ounce of discipline.
Dump is too inept to be dangerous. Hereâs what I see happening. The freedumb caucus will bitch and moan and demand a Wall. The House will pass a bill to placate them. The Senate will laugh, send a more or less clean DACA bill back to them, which Ryan will pass with the help of the Dems, just to get the issue out of the way so he can spend more time fapping over entitlement cuts. Dump will declare victory, sign it, and spend the next week declaring Man Coulter is dead to him after (s)he explodes at him with righteous racist spleen.
âIâll sign anything that you passâ doesnât seem like a sound negotiating position. And how many times did Don the Con say ânegotiate?â 20? Itâs the only word he knows that is related to a legislative process. Of course he doesnât expect DACA will pass without lots of garbage attached in the House, so he says heâll sign anything, meaning a bill which would have zero Dem support.
What he supports n what Democratic leadership supports are two separate things.
Wrong.
To get his fucking wall, he wants to get rid of border security measures that actually work.
No Dem will help Ryan. If they do, Indivisible will primary them.
They wonât be helping Ryan. Theyâll be using him to help the Dreamers.
Wants. Wonât get.
Ryan canât do that. He follows the Boehner perversion of the Hastert Rule. A majority of the majority is no longer sufficient. All legislation has to pass solely with GOP votes.
I think he can muster enough R votes to get it through, for the sake of the aforementioned entitlement fapping.
Blah, blah, blah. This doesnât get us any further than where we were before. Itâs still about the crazies in the House and whether Ryan wants to stay speaker.
My bet is that âchain immigrationâ is the poison pill. What they mean is that if you become a citizen or a legal resident you have to abandon your family.
Welp, the RNC mailed out a release saying "Youâve all been talking about that dumb book but lookit heâs being awesome see see? about this confab. Showing how he can President good and do other stuff good. And he does this by getting a group of Ds and Rs in a room and saying the names of things and agreeing to anything. We were all wrong! Turns out Daddy Trump saved Christmas, or something, and we were wrong to doubt him. (Spits on floor in disgust.)
Letâs get wages up before either of those two things.
You could well be right, but I think the way to test it is to publicly take him at his word and push forward with a Democratic bill, and see just how tge Republicans react.
