So, this article assumes the questions reported in the NYT were leaked by the White House. Thought that was just conjester yesterday…today it is assumed? So Spanky’s tweak rage was over his own people?

If not for holding the office of Presidency, Trump would be barred for signing for FedEx packages while in the White House supply room. Hell, he might not be allowed in the White House supply room.

What a clown show. First Donnie can’t GET lawyers and now he can’t get GOOD lawyers. These suckers can’t get clearance because they can’t be trusted not to run to FOX news the minute the sessions break for lunch.
Trump could clear them pre-emptively if he wanted to, but he doesn’t have that kind of loyalty. Or executive function.

This really isn’t new. This was brought up last year when Trump first starting pulling together his legal team. We even discussed it here on the boards at TPM.
There are ways the Courts can handle such issues when they get to trial, but most likely its being done on purpose by his attorneys in order to create difficulties, slow things down and raise potential appeals down the road.
Its also one of the reasons I see an impeachment on other grounds than Russia as pretty likely. The IC will have all sorts of heartburn about Mueller turning over classified intelligence to Congress in order for them to proceed with impeachment and a trial. And with so many weasels like Nunes scurrying about Congress, there is ZERO chance that such material won’t be leaked.
If only the lawyers who lack security clearances could hire lawyers who knew lawyers with security clearances who would be willing to work for the White(s Only) House without demanding anonymity and pre-payment. Problem solved.
Actually, I don’t think he can. The WH doesn’t grant security clearances, that’s the purview of the FBI and other IC agencies. He can declassify information he wants, however…but I don’t think they really want to do that, since arguing that his lawyers can’t review all the evidence will take up more time.
I suspect you’re right about it being a foot-dragging tactic.
This sounds very plausible. Mueller has quite a balancing act on a whole variety of facets of this investigation.
Perhaps, after he’s out, we’ll get Spanky through a military tribunal: communing with the enemy…
