If you see the phrase “Russian Oligarch” and freak out over the Russian part, you’re focusing your outrage on the wrong word. Russia, per se, is not “our enemy”, any more than Saudi Arabia is our “friend”. The enemy is concentrated wealth and political regimes that serve wealth, whether that is in Russia, Saudi Arabia or the United States…

Unless they have no expectation of getting clear of said charges. Then it’s just a case of take the money and run. Perhaps when it’s clear that Mueller’s report is coming out (or a Democratic Congress’ public hearings are concluding), Rudy will head on another of these junkets and simply fail to return. He’ll close out his accounts in the Caymans and Cyprus and shack up in some Russian satellite state.
