Corker served as a Foreign Policy advisor to the Trump Transition Team. I think Trump’s antics cracked Corker’s ability to just stay within the rw bubble. There have been signs of such a crack for a couple of months now, in some of his subdued criticism when asked about various Trump outrages.

Trump serves his Kremlin handlers well when it comes to spreading disorder, polluting civil discourse, and wreaking democratic institutions but they are perhaps less pleased he has failed to lift annoying sanctions; pissing on America’s shoes is fun but sanctions cost the oligarchs real money.
