The meeting will be closely watched to see whether Trump will rebuke or embrace Putin

Oh, to have Churchill back just long enough to express his personal opinion of an American “president” blatantly destroying the Western compact for the express purpose of handing it over to a KGB officer running Russia.

In what is Putin our “competitor”? Are we in a competition where certain non-corrupt segments of our society object to his subverting Western political discourse, probing its infrastructure for exploitable weaknesses, threatening the West militarily, and taking over regions that were formerly part of the Soviet bloc? Is that how we’re competing? Because we used to use a different term for that.

“Frankly it helps them a lot more than it helps us.”

Article 5 has been invoked only once- for protection of the USA after 9/11, you polished turd.
Then there are the hundreds of NATO casualties in Afghanistan, the Libya and other NATO operations that allowed a reprieve for the US military.

Trump doubles down on his belief that NKOR will stand by the “agreement” (vague - and no real promises) because he and Kim shook hands.

Yet here we have more than half a century of agreements/commitments - and Trump is spitting in the face of the NATO allies.

And yet still declares that a handshake with Kim - is like … gold because… well because it involves the supreme being/intellect/intuition of Trump.

To the US and its NATO allies - Trump = Dangerous, malignant, fool.

To Putin, Kim and Xi Jinping - Trump = Boorish, manipulable useful idiot.

Trump, who has compared the sentiment that underpinned the Brexit vote to leave the EU to his own election

In that they were both engineered by Putin.

Can Bonespurs even talk like a effin adult? It seems to be too much to expect coherent sentences and thoughts from this POS. The damage he is doing is going to take years to repair; NATO the enemy and Russia the friend?

“… except for our so-called allies.”

Fucking traitor.

I could have written the Chait article that was out yesterday. At the very least Trump is a massive dupe and easy mark that surrounded himself by a load of Russians. Other possibilities are more disturbing. Trump is destroying alliances, separating children form families for happy racist spite and naming Supreme Court Judges. The simpletons on Morning Joe this morning entirely missed the point that this guy should not be making these decisions and proclamations while under serious investigation. Trump has as much business in this station as Pennywise the Clown has being the ice cream man.

If ice cream man were an elective office, Republicans would vote for Pennywise.

Graft.

He hasn’t a clue about the history or workings of NATO. When has he ever read anything?

I’d say “graft” is area in which he’s assiduously seeking to cooperate with us. Seriously this is one of eleventy-billion instances weekly of Trump not using words with any reference to reality. There’s no way in which we compete with Russia the way we compete with, say, Japan in car manufacturing.

It’s a strange competition when you give your “competitor” everything he wants.
