Discussion: Trump Is Considered Obese Despite Doctor Touting 'Very Good Health'

A tab or two of nitroglycerin will do that to a guy.

You are correct about the BMI not being a universal guide to health. It works well for population studies where the average person is, well, average.

It breaks down on very tall people (but not Trump, who is not “very tall”), increasingly on everyone as they get older (the optimum weight increases with age, so he gets a certain gimme here), and it is useless for anyone who does weight exercises since muscle is dense, Anyone lifting weights will be ranked as “obese” by the BMI even if they have 1% body fat. Of course this absolutely does not help Trump.

You can, in fact, just like you can have a family history of heart disease or cancer and still be in very good health. Risk is not actuality.

Also as others have noted, BMI is best used for comparisons of populations. It keeps you from making the basic error of concluding that tall people are fatter than short ones, but that’s about it.

There have been a number of interesting photo essays showing people of radically different body shapes but the same BMI posed next to each other.

I agree that the traitor tot’s stated weight seems really low, but given his life long refusal to exercise he might just be a giant fat-Berg, and this weigh less than those of us who put on a lot of muscle in our younger days and then grew “well-padded” as we aged.

So have I. But when you start ticking off the other things, like his completely sedentary life, his atrocious diet, the constant stress he creates and dwells in, the strange hours, the rumored drugs, the variety of symptoms we’ve seen, that’s what makes he say he is probably not the picture of health.

I sincerely hope that a Democratic Congress will investigate and punish any wrongdoers.

I want one reporter in every press opportunity to yell at him, “Mr. Trump, what are you going to do about your obesity?”

Question for doctors; shouldn’t a physical for someone of his age and medical history include a stress test?

Would that be BC (Before Christie) or AD (After Dickitude)?

Big bones.

Toad glands, no doubt.

Trump is on meds to control his lipids and bp. That’s why they look “good”, although the MDs made some adjustments, based on their examinations. Read more of the report.

Which medication is for bp? Is this on the list? Previously he was said not to be on bp medication.

Obama is 6’2…

I remember from somewhere, maybe in the campaign, that he tipped the Toledos at 267. All that executive time can’t burn enough calories to get down to 239. IIRC he was 6’2" on his NY drivers license. I haven’t met too many people who grew 1 inch and lost 30lbs at age 72. I bet the fat fuck uses a golf cart to go upstairs in the WH.

Don’t I wish Stormy had candids.

That’s an argument you can make in strict terms–a person who is presently disease-free could technically also be obese. But put it this way: Is there a doctor in the country who wouldn’t urge a patient like that to get the weight under control? I’m not concerned with the hypotheticals because the weight isn’t the only factor. To me the signs are clear that he’s simply not a healthy person, no matter what he persuades the doctors who work for him to say. There’s really not much reason to believe any of this.

Since his true height, from his driver’s license, is 6-2, his BMI is 32. That is obese or in normal terms, FAT.

Btw, I assume they use a veterinarian to do a prostate check? l
