Iâm skeptical Trump actually wrote this. If he had it would have said Trump and Rosenstein are going to have a great meeting.
Trump will meet with Rosenstein be afraid to fire him and come out blaming the whole thing on McCabe and waxing poetically (ha ha) about how wonderful Rod is. This will end up cementing Rosenstein in place (for a time).
Well he does know what he sees on FOX TV. 
What really appears to be happening is that his âTV supportersâ are of TWO minds. The Ann Coulter set (along with Rudi Guilliani) are so afraid of Mueller that they want to risk firing him. This set (likely connected to Guilliani) leaked McCabeâs ânotesâ to the NYT, in an effort to force Muellerâs firing, and the NYT always trying to prove how âneutralâ it is, and how its better than the Post, ran with the hit piece.
meanwhile Old Rupert (who is an evil genus) knows that firing Rosenstein will hurt the republicans in November, and so he got Sean Hanity to go out and tell Trump to cool it, nor fire Rosenstein. (Hanity is not that smart, he just follows Rupertâs orders,and Rupert in turn coordinates with Mitch McConnell).
Trump then got agitated about Kavanaugh going down, and wants to change the topic. He wanted to fire Rosenstein to change the subject, and Kelley said he would get him to resign. Hence the placed piece in Axios. But Rosenstein did not play ball, and the issue got put off.
Meanwhile Guilliani is pushing to fire Rosenstein and âpauseâ the investigation.
