Discussion: Trump: If My Daughter Was Harassed At Work, I'd Hope She'd Leave The Job

See now if my daughter were harassed at work, at least part of me would hope she’d kick the bastard right in the balls. But that’s just me I guess.

I’m curious what he would hope his daughter would do if she were gang raped?

These comments come days after it was reported that Trump had been advising Ailes in the final days of his Fox tenure.

Of course, a sexual harrasser who was accused of treating women underlings like shit should always ask a reported rapist who bragged about treating women like shit and making financial killings via bankruptcies how to continue to treat women like shit and get away with a 40 million dollar severance package.

Well, more to the point, a woman’s soft, inviting body is her problem, really.

Yes, he is seriously sick. My thought is narcissism — which means, among other things, that he can’t really control his “it’s all about me” reactions. The American Psychiatric Association, DSM-IV definition is this:
“Narcissistic Personality Disorder involves arrogant behavior, a lack of empathy for other people, and a need for admiration-all of which must be consistently evident at work and in relationships. People who are narcissistic are frequently described as cocky, self-centered, manipulative, and demanding. Narcissists may concentrate on unlikely personal outcomes (e.g., fame) and may be convinced that they deserve special treatment.” I don’t know how much more spot on you can get.

And I found this, which someone else posted in another thread (sorry I didn’t note who), very interesting:
Working Knowledge: How to Tell the Difference Between a Narcissist and a Sociopath

The bottom line is that, if we had to choose, we’d be better off electing a sociopath! At least they can exercise some self-control, at least put on a show of socially acceptable behavior, and look ahead to consequences (even if it’s only to further their goals). ------------ It’s becoming increasingly clear that Trump truly cannot help himself, can’t stop these reactions and way of seeing things … which is far more terrifying, I believe, than thinking of him as mean or evil or whatever.

I don’t know. What Ailes did carrying around a garter belt in his pocket (to toss to women to wear and dance for him and get on their knees facing him) is not something men I know (rich poor white and nonwhite) do… even the weird ones. Sexual acts to Ailes seem to be more about humiliation than pleasure. Mommy issues maybe?

At least he might not scuttle off to the nearest grocery for a little retail public relations like Gov. Etch-A-Sketch did in '12

You cannot make this up. Really. You can’t.

I wondered if he was trying to lead up to his heart blowing out, or apoplexy or some big final act - cause this guy Trump isn’t gonna come back from this.

Yeah, it’s a pretty good model statement you laid out. But he LOVES suing people as well. Why shouldn’t he/she sue over the abuse? Why did he forget this??

Your comment reminded me of a passage from Frank Zappa’s “Brown Shoes Don’t Make It”:

If she were my daughter, I’d…
What would you do, Daddy?
If she were my daughter, I’d …
What would you do, Daddy?
Check this out …

Smother my daughter in chocolate syrup
And strap her on again, oh baby
Smother that girl in chocolate syrup
And strap her on again
She’s my teen-age baby
Really turns me on
I’d like to make her do a nasty
On the White House lawn
Smother my daughter in chocolate syrup
And bugger 'til the cows come home

Sorry. Couldn’t help it. Plus I think FZ would approve in this context.

The post-convention bump is a more proximate causal factor than HRC’s mea culpa from last fall (and repeated in the late spring/early summer ahead of the Comey report).

Don’t misunderstand: I’d much rather be where we are than where Trump and his enablers are at this point in time. At the same time, we should not underestimate the extent to which the private server debacle causes voters heartburn. This seems to be especially true of voters who hold or have held security clearances (anecdotal evidence).

What’s funny to me is that I used to vacation in the same town as the Romney’s, and I saw Mitt in the grocery and other local stores quite often. Truth is, he shopped in town a lot, was polite and friendly to everyone, but a little standoffish.

But he did his own grocery shopping.

Exactly!

“Daddyyyy! Stop! Hands off! OK, I quit!”

Apparently, Donnie might respond more quickly to:

This whole family shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the White House!
Not even for a fn tour!

Good Lord…THAT apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Hey Eric? When you don’t understand the question, don’t feel compelled to answer.

This is so bizarre—yet another example of Trump, with Eric chiming in, saying something completely unnecessary which only hurts him.
I have a suggestion: how about comments on whether Ivanka would get an abortion if she is raped? I don’t mean to insinuate anything, it’s just that it’s hard to top what the Trumps already added to the discussions of women’s issues.
