Discussion: Trump: If My Daughter Was Harassed At Work, I'd Hope She'd Leave The Job

Well, too many men. I doubt there is a woman of working age who has been in the job market who hash;t had to deal with sex discrimination or sexual harassment in one form or another.

"Let’s see … Hispanics, check. Muslims, check. Gold Star families, check. Women, check. Hmmm …

Hey, Paul. What do I have to do to piss off white males who still support me?"

Translated Trump: If My Daughter Was Harassed At Work, I’d Hope She’d Leave The Job and Buy the Company. Why would anyone do anything else?

What happens if her father is doing the harassing?

2016 and we have to listen to this kind of shit.

My 21 year old daughter should kickbox his ass to the ground.

And make him cry.

I also see the same pattern he has shown through this Kahn family thing – even if you (general you) aren’t exceedingly an empathetic person, you at least know what you are expected to say in such situations as these and say the appropriate things. That’s the minimum level of self-reflection, the socialized self, for normal adults. At the age of 70, Trump is nowhere near that minimum level, and doesn’t have any mental capacity to even realize that. This guy is, really, seriously sick.

Excellent points Sandyh.

I guess Trump figures that, now that he’s thrown veterans overboard with his comments about the khans, it’s time to lose more votes among working women

As usual, tRump is an idiot. Unlike Ivanka, most women don’t have the financial luxury to just pick up and leave a job if they are sexually harassed. Moreover, such a scenario places all of the loss on the shoulders of the woman and subjects the harasser to no consequences whatsoever. What if it’s a job she really liked? Should a woman have to give up all of the career advancement she has earned just because she’s harassed? What an idiot.

Remember Anita Hill’s experience? She is still vilified for telling the truth. I can remember the sense of helpless rage that I felt at the time of the hearings, and I can’t help but remember the way she was treated when I hear people being so flippant about what women “should do” about being abused this way.
Even if I am appalled at what the women at Fox news have allowed in the name of journalism, I can not help but feel their frustration at this abuse. The rage? It still burns.

You’re right that Trump is missing all sense of propriety and social awareness. His comment also reveals a lack of genuine empathy for his own daughter. Dads are protective and supportive - not dismissive of their daughters’ pain or mistreatment.

I wonder if any plucky journalist might ask Ivanka if she has an opinion on her father’s statement.

Yeah, good advice.

So what would you do if someone posted nude photos of your wife in a newspaper?

what he really means is that he’d want to know who’s cutting in on his time…

It was RIGHT THERE in front of the WORLD on the TV, when the woman that says “Daddy doesn’t grope women” got groped by her daddy.

Give a gander at the TPM Home Page right now. Article after article after article of absolutely outrageous statements by Mr. Trump or his surrogates. And I mean OUTRAGEOUS!

Question: Is this what we have in store for the next 98 days?

Answer: I certainly hope so! Praise the Lord!

How would you know, Donnie? She’s never had a job that you didn’t give her.
