Discussion: Trump: If GOP Doesn't Support Me, Fine, 'I Have A Lot Of Cash'

“I’ve gotten the worst three weeks of publicity I’ve ever had in my life,” said Trump. “Really the press is hammering me really unfairly in many cases, not in all cases, but in many cases just hammering me. Nobody’s ever seen anything like it."

Oh yeah - like Hillary Clinton hasn’t been getting the treatment for the past 26 years? This guy takes such obscene pleasure in dishing it out, but when the focus is on him, its all so unfair!!! My fervent wish is that he is left broke and humiliated by his utterly unserious vanity run.

Kudos to the #Trumpsopoor hashtag on twitter which features gems like 'rockem sockem’s:

#Trumpsopoor he’s been forced to scale back his Mexican wall to a “Stay off my lawn” sign

Fucking classic, rockem.

Should just burn down his campaign instead.

He’s not as rich as he says. Not the awesome businessman he says he is. He is not who he says he is. He won’t get money for nothing.

I wonder if this is the issue that finally makes the GOP apparat give him the boot. Racism, misogyny, okay… bad. But not firing offenses.

This, on the other hand, involves money and the most basic elements of competent political practice. If the party’s rich donor base sits on its hands - and they were already reluctant, this FEC report will just make things much worse - then the entire party risks going down in flames. For the first time, I’m thinking there may actually be a coup.

Like most bullies, he is shocked when he gets hit back, and runs off to Mommy (read: Ivanka) and cries.

Now there are indications in the SEC filing the dude’s siphoning off 10% of his campaign cash to his own businesses.

…and Hillz just burned him with it.

What is Trump spending his meager campaign resources on? Why, himself, of course. https://t.co/6LsNwf4gTL

I am beginning to wonder if this isn’t his exit strategy. He will stomp off telling his supporters that the GOP will not pony up and that the whole institution is rigged against him and them and he’s not about to fall on his sword defending such losers. The GOP will do nothing to stop him… Enter Romney.

The question is - how much of the total is cash, and how much just pledges? My guess is that the cash came in $20 bills, but the big stuff came in as pledges. Almost none of which will be paid.

I think you’re right - it may be at the early negotiation stage right now.

Call it a divorce of convenience.

“I’ve gotten the worst three weeks of publicity I’ve ever had in my
life,” said Trump. “Really the press is hammering me really unfairly in
many cases, not in all cases, but in many cases just hammering me.
Nobody’s ever seen anything like it."

Except maybe Hillary Clinton, from 1992 to the present.

Trust us, it’s gonna get worse. And it will be all your fault, because you just can’t help yourself.

“Really the press is hammering me really unfairly in many cases, not in all cases, but in many cases just hammering me. Nobody’s ever seen anything like it."

Right, I’m sure President Obama and Secretary Clinton have no idea what that’s like. The press and the GOP have always treated them with the utmost respect and deference - like that time no one reported your racist insinuations about the President’s birth place.

Is Manafort et al paid in advance ?

If he’s smart he gets paid in cash and he runs the yellow highlighter across the bills before leaving the office.
