Discussion: Trump Holds Rally In Montana, Frequently Invokes 'Great Gentleman' Kavanaugh

When Brett is elected , Dumpy will get the church*s votes .

During the rally, Trump claimed Democrats would “hurt” Social Security and “kill” Medicare. Trump promised during his 2016 campaign that he would save those programs.

lie big or go home.

Take the House and Senate, box this fucker in.

The attendees who buy this shit are brain-dead… you have to be seriously fucked up to believe a statement like that,

I think they’ve already drank the Kool-Aid… I just hope the affect kicks in before November.

I watched that rally last night. . It was really funny to watch a guy in a plaid shirt not clap and make some animated facial expressions as Trump talked. He was approached by a woman and then replaced. Later, some other guy was also replaced by smiling young woman who clapped on cue.

Between that misogynist mass shooter a few years ago referring to himself as a “supreme gentleman,” and Trump last night with his “great gentleman” description of Kavanaugh, this term has taken quite the beating lately.

Trump’s rallies are a distraction to GOP candidates, not a boon.

Paul Krugman did a very depressing op/ed on Kav. He says he and his fellow Sup Ct whores will effectively do away with the Constitution.

Spanky really enjoys these circle jerks!

My thoughts, too. They’ve reached a point of diminishing returns, maybe formed a Gresham’s Law of Trump attention vs no attention – or something like that. (I may need more coffee.)

"…statement like that,

I think there’s some science to support this. I’m too lazy to hunt up links for you
.
After WW2 barrels of ink were expended on books and papers that attempted to 'splain why so many will sign on with a dictator.

Couple days ago I read in the NYTimes that students are avoiding humanities courses for more “practical” ones. After all, who needs to know any history, logic, epistemology? That’s for snowflakes and libruls.

when in doubt refer to Bob Altemeyer.

eek!

But this is like climate change. We were warned plenty that we were creating a disaster in the only atmosphere we’ve got, and we kept on doing it. Now we are facing the consequences. Whether American democracy endures could well depend on what happens at the polls in 2018 and 2020. Authoritarian leaders and authoritarian followers have no great love of freedom and equality. Those who do had better organize and get out the vote, or they will make Donald Trump look like the super-genius he believes he is.

And swap out the people behind you who look bored or incredulous.

Trump said many of the Senate Democrats whom Tester had helped elect “are attacking Judge Kavanaugh and looking like fools.”

At least Trump remembered to say Kavanaugh’s name.

Myself? I don’t know how many years I have left on this rock. Maybe 10. I weep for my kids and grandkids. I see how easy it was to change other countries into dictatorships and hope we have the will to stop it all before it’s too late.
