The last time I checked (this morning), 538 had the Democrats at 85% likely control of the House, which is an upward trend for the Dems.

The republican party.
Make it smaller and smaller until you can drown it in a bathtub.

There are going to be a great number of conservative Americans who will not embrace this batshit crazy wing of the Republican party.
If the Democrats cant capitalize on this and turn it into votes …

Can’t wait to see Ryan hand over that gavel.

Trump will pick Ryan’s replacement on one’s ability to kiss his ass and degrade themselves in his presence.

I thought members selected the leader, not the President.

If there’s a GOP wipeout on Election Day, Republicans will probably be eager to boot the current GOP leadership, which could give rise to Scalise or even Jordan’s unorthodox bid.

Not sure whether to laugh or cry.

Let’s go with Jordan
Built in Scandal waiting to happen

Jordan, the jut-jawed Republican and anti-gay crusader in the House, is singled out in the suit: He’s one of only three former school officials named, including Strauss, though the action is aimed at all the coaches, administrators and others in positions of responsibility at OSU who, it claims, stood by while students and student-athletes were repeatedly “sexually abused, harassed, and molested,” and “forced” to seek treatment from a well-known predator even after they complained.

Seriously. For the generic ballot there’s always been a big lead, although it’s got to be a certain percentage in the end to overcome the gerrymandering and so forth. But “seesawing” is not that. Misleading and silly.

GOP leader in the House maybe but The Speaker of the House is gonna be a democrat.
Just sayin’.

And that is classic narcissistic behavior.

I’m rooting for Jim Jordan. Just for the pleasure of watching Speaker Nancy Pelosi chew him up and spit him out.

Of course Trump is giving mixed signals on who he favors to replace Ryan as Speaker. He’s not exactly sure what the Speaker of the House does, or who currently holds that position.

In 2015, after he had announced his run for the R nomination, he didn’t know that Boehner was the Speaker at the time. Now, to be sure, John Boehner is an eminently forgettable figure. A lot of people have no idea who he is or was, but a lot of people aren’t trying to be the leader of a major political party of which Boehner was at least the co-leader at the time. I mean, if a person is trying for a job that involves working with the Speaker hand in glove, you would think such a person might have noticed who the Speaker at the time was and what the Speaker does.

You shouldn’t make any such presuppositions about an obviously demented person. To put it another way, the fact that Trump didn’t know Boehner from Adam is one of the thousands of daily proofs he has given us that he is obviously demented.

How could Trump fail to give mixed signals on a topic where he doesn’t know the question, much less the answer?

Scalise survived life-threatening injuries after he was shot at a congressional baseball practice in 2017.

Oh, what a shame.

Sorry. I couldn’t resist!
