Discussion: Trump Floats Conspiracy Theory That Ted Cruz’s Dad Linked To Lee Harvey Oswald

Evidently this is a slow news day. The Donald felt it was necessary for him to say something crazy to capture the media narrative for another few hours.

This Katherine Krueger article is flawed and misleading. The journalists at National Enquirer published an article and made the case linking Ted Cruz’s family. Trump simply repeated an existing story. He did not “float” the theory. The theory was already floating.

And, Hey Donald! Why not ask were Heidi Cruz was on 9-11, hmmm? ____ She had a perfect location to guide a plane right into the WTC complex! Just sayin’!

Say anything…mental illness takes many forms…

If you meet a Trump voter, run the other way.

Donald said, he thinks that it’s a disgrace that Cruz dad was allowed to say it…SERIOUSLY, ‘FREEDOM OF SPEECH’…is that also threatened by a Trump presidency.
The Republicans are Un-American.

Those Zodiac Killer tendencies had to come from somewhere.

Well, to the majority of Cruz supporters, helping to kill Kennedy would be a GOOD thing!

Lol. I guess I’m too young to know about the World Weekly News. So I looked it up. Interesting side note, Fox and Friends was once duped by the WWN into thinking the LAPD spent $1 billion on 10,000 jetpacks.

Great Cesar’s Ghost, what have we collectively degenerated into?

The front runner of one of the two major political parties in the most powerful country on earth, being allowed to call into a so called news program on the most watched cable news channel hosted by Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb and the who knows who or what the other person is, to reference a poorly sourced tabloid story accusing the father of the second candidate in the party of possible guilt by association in the assassination of President Kennedy without anyone calling Trump out on the comments, level of discourse and whether a person of Trump’s character can possibly lead the free world in the 21st Century. You couldn’t write this story or make it into a movie - Oh, I forgot “A Face in the Crowd.”

I saw Michael Steele, former head of the RN the other day on MSNBC and thought he must be thanking his lucky stars that he is not in charge of this circus. Just because we might be Democrats, Progressives, or Independents, we have to collectively regret this whole mess as it is a sad reflection of the state of the Republic. We must do whatever we can to fix the political process now and voting is just the first step.

It would be funny if it wasn’t so damn sad . . .

Dumber than the Dooce, sure, that argument’s available. We can all see on this video as Stevio visibly flinches, twice, at the mention of “Lee Harvey Oswald”, first in the eyes, then opening his mouth a bit and looking down, O Lord, WTF is going on here, news is breaking on my own show and I’m just not equipped to handle that.

Dumber than Kilmeade? That’s a tougher sell, given his reaction to actually cite the picture that’s quite clearly NOT of the young Rafael Cruz [not without radical facial bone and ear surgery, not once but twice, once between when he was a young man in Cuba and then a second time between 1963 and pictures of him both in Canada and then back in the U.S., as

“there’s a picture out there that’s [sic] reportally [sic] shows Rafael Cruz standig with Lee Harvey Arswald [sic]”.

That does show Kilmeade’s sharpness in staying with the Fox & Fs format of picking up on distortions and lies and then immediately attempting to repeat them for context and emphasis, like a human chyron on the fritz, and indeed that move retains the classic F troop move in mangling the phrase beyond the point of useful rationalization with English grammar or language or indeed human thought.

Dumber than the Fox? I assume that porcelain figurine to Kilmeade’s right is Elizabeth Hasselbeck. I don’t know what to make of her complete lack of reaction to Drumpf raising Rafael Cruz with Lee Harvey Oswald AS A FACT and then her being similarly stoic as Kilmeade mangles the human chyron bit. Does that display the remarkable level of emotional restraint we associate with higher intellects, or does it just show that she doesn’t know WTF they’re talking about? Her years on The View strongly suggest the latter.

The report card: Drumpf is definitely dumber than the Dooce, probably less dumb than Kilmeade (admittedly a low bar), and very likely nowhere so dumb as zombie-brained Hasselbeck.

Donald Trump has missed his calling as a kind of political party witch doctor for the GOP. For a fee, he’ll name all the nonsensical talking points that might cause voters to go fuzzy in the head and support GOP candidates. It’s about the only thing he’s good at.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Cruz Sr. and Oswald actually crossed paths back in the day. Oswald was running with both pro-Castro and anti-Castro cranks in Dallas and New Orleans, and apparently Cruz Sr. was living in New Orleans around then.

The sharp intellect of a natural-born Chief Executive who’ll ignore a memo titled Bin Laden to Strike in America.

Probably not far from the mark.

“Oswald was obsessed with Cuba and a public advocate for Fidel Castro’s regime. In the summer of 1963, he opened a New Orleans outpost of the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, a pro-Castro organization. He tried to infiltrate a local anti-Castro group, and on August 9, 1963, he was arrested on Canal Street, after scuffling with three anti-Castro Cuban exiles. (More than a week later, he debated one of the Cuban exiles on the radio.) He printed up leaflets proclaiming “Hands Off Cuba”—a reference to Kennedy administration’s campaign against the Castro regime.”

Cruz’s father is a bigmouth and a nut case, so sure, it could be true.

Who cares? In the relevant period someone found a fruitcake Oswald to do the job.

It has nothing to do with this Cuba Committee.

This “tomato salesman” knew something about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gdgwpci-ZI

But I digress. Point is, Rafael Cruz’s wacky personal political interests (if any) don’t mean anything.
