I have been somewhat surprised that Trump hasn’t brought up Cruz’s father’s communist ties to Castro earlier. That’s undisputed.
But I guess he had to wait for a really bizarre conspiracy theory to latch it onto first.

I’m thinking less that they agree,but that they know that no other candidate stands a chance in the primary and they are hoping that Trump will come back to the center once he has the nomination. Then maybe he’ll start pulling in more of the “normal” republicans like themselves into his campaign and it will get back onto something more realistic.
I think they are fooling themselves to believe he will do that, but I think they believe that is what will happen. Good news in my tiny mind is, he’ll lose regardless of how much to the left in republican ways he comes.

That really is true, he’s like a criticism fetishist. Normal vanilla criticisms don’t work for him—it’s the clownish and ridiculous ones that really get him revved up.

Supposedly, Cruz’s father is the guy in the white shirt to Oswald’s left. Its unconfirmed, but it certainly bears a resemblance to him based on other photos of the time.
Remember, around this time, Cruz Sr. was still a pretty strong advocate for Castro’s revolution, and he did have ties to New Orleans (its where he met and married his second wife, Ted’s mother). And Oswald was kind of all over the place during this time period as far as his “politics”.
