I find it likely that, at some past point, Trump got a woman pregnant and paid for an abortion to make it go away.
Scalia was very good at crating arguments to support his positions, so without him the right wing of the SC is a lot weaker. I mean, Thomasā arguments are usually pretty weak, and Alito is to the right of Thomas and many of his arguments arenāt well supported by a straight reading of the laws. Scalia gave a lot of intellectual heft, that had an actual foundation in the reading of the law (instead of the twists Thomas and Alito depend on), and could have figured out how to get Kennedy onto a weaker decision, or to make it go the opposite way. If we can get a centrist onto the Court, the right wing will be isolatedā¦we donāt even need a lefty to reverse the strong drift of the judiciary over the past couple decades. This issue alone matters more than anything else, we just canāt let the Republicans put more right wing extremists on the court, that will endanger any equal rights you can imagine.

To be clear, the Supreme Court voted 5-3 against the Texas law, and a ninth justice would not have been enough to change the courtās opinion.
The Donaldās very presence in the Oval Office would have been enough to change the courtās opinion. Nobody appoints like Donald, and nobody persuades like Donald.

P.S. Iām actually surprised that Trump was able to connect the dots of the ACA rulings and Robertsā votes. That seems way beyond his level of knowledge so it was probably something that āhis peopleā practiced with him. Which also explains why it took Trump a week to respond.
