The FBI doesn’t investigate sexual assaults that did not occur on federal property. If the victim were to have reported it when it happened it would have been a local police investigation. The only reason the FBI are involved now is that the alleged rapist is a supreme court nominee and the FBI assembles the background dossier on supreme court nominees.
