Discussion: Trump Endorses Flake Opponent In Arizona Senate Race

It’s like Anderson Cooper’s speculation about dumping on the desk—if Trump did that it would be a huge controversy with some Republicans troubled by it but then maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, who knows who else might have done it, and maybe it’s actually awesome? Can we say that? Refreshingly open compared to people who never dare to dump anywhere but in a toilet or sometimes the woods, and even then behind a tree? And then the surprisingly robust numbers of rank and file Republicans who support desk-dumping. We’ve seen that for two years now. But the trend lines are relentlessly down. And what he might do to be seen more favorably by the general public and even by his base—what would that be? They don’t care about racism but they sure do care about health insurance. Is he going to help with that? I don’t see it. Let’s give it a Friedman unit and see how things go. : )

that’ll give Bannon a woodie…

I’ve no idea.

Right now, I’m just ‘waiting’ on either McCaul or Perry to stab Cruz in the back and then it will really be an ‘off to the races’ moment.

How is having crawled into bed with Trump working out for you now Flake?

Really great idea to bash senators and hit them where it matters most (re-election) iam sure that is going to make it much easier to pass things through the senate. /snark

Trump is just praying for a demonstration that can be distorted or provoked to feed his fantasies about violent lefties with clubs. I hope somehow he loses his nerve and doesn’t go to Arizona. If he does go I hope that the demonstration or demonstrations are held somewhere away from the “Triumph of the Will” event.

Trump’s ‘Attack a GOP Senator du jour’…Why on EARTH would a conservative Senator support Trump knowing that you could be attacked at any time? Unless you have something in your past that causes you absolute fear?

To the President, quid pro quo is a meaningless Latin phrase.

Trump wants the Phoenix trip bad.
–Double-double down on alt-left
–Pardon Sheriff Joe
–Stick it to Flake
–Probably say something stupid about China and/or the wall and/or McCain

Looks like Senator Flake will enjoy another six years in the Senate.

…“enjoy” may be a bit optimistic, though, considering the caustic political climate he’ll no doubt have to deal with in Trump’s wake.

We have a very good candidate in AZ in Krysten Sinema. She won’t beat Flake, but she will beat Ward. If Trump gets his way against Flake, Sinema will win that Senate seat for the Dems.

I agree - there is a tremendous potential here for more violence. What the fuck is this guy doing holding “rallies”? His need for self aggrandizement has no bottom. He is now on a mission to prove there are bad guys on the left. Can it get uglier? Oh yes, Virginia, yes it can.

The mayor’s asked him not to come. We’ve had good luck keeping out provocateurs and the like, so far, which is why I said what I did. If he needs to lie about us, he will. I appreciate your agreeing with me.
