Discussion: Trump Eager To Strip Clearance Of More Critics, Those Involved In Russia Probe

DC’s budget is administered by Congress and, uh, just saying this here: not a damn thing happens in DC city government without the possibility of congressional intervention. Trump again avers he doesn’t know anything about the city he receives taxpayer funds to live in.

Well then, i would say stripping the Mueller team of security clearances so that they cannot do their jobs … would constitute obstruction of justice. Trump’s corrupt intent is obvious and there for all to see. Yet Congress members will kowtow and kiss his feet and tell him how great he is and Fox will proclaim the Second Coming.
It will be interesting to hear how Fox denigrates Adm. McRaven. What will they use to bad mouth him?

He has no idea. For $92 million you could probably get a base model F-15 after paying tax and tags. One. F-35s are between 100 and 150.

I live reasonably near a large AF base (Davis-Monthan). I see all sorts of prop and jet planes daily over head. An F-35 would be premium get-you-there on my scale of cool planes I’ve seen. When one punches an after burner everybody nearby is aware.

Yep. In that link I posted it says that the F-15 Strike Eagle costs $80 million. That’s the only one they mentioned that makes the less than 100 million cut.

Stripping clearances from people actively using them, without a really big paper trail, would be . . . interesting. And everyone signing off on the implementation would know that they were in trouble.

I like all kinds of planes but those warbirds are in a class all their own. Even a WWII prop fighter has a palpable power that normal planes don’t have.

A third-grader who steals first-graders lunch money thinks it makes him look strong and decisive.

Right.

On planet Maga!

If by toot the horn, you mean drop something nuclear!

My dad was a Navy pilot in WW2 in the Pacific. He flew a Grumman Avenger torpedo plane. When I turned 16 he took me up in one of that very type. We flew over our farm to my mom’s consternation and we did a few acrobatics. It was a hoot.

OMG that must have been cool. And my infinite respect. You need so many amazing qualities to be a combat air pilot. That’s why I have no patience for people who called George H.W. Bush a “wimp.” He wasn’t a great president and was a far from perfect person, but if you fly combat air a wimp you are not.

I agree. GHW wasn’t a great POTUS but he damned well did not sully the office like the present occupant does daily… And I too have respect for those who flew in the war and who serve today anywhere in the military. And as I indicated on a different thread…we will need to do a Truman style clean up at the White House when trump is gone. Harry had the mansion gutted down to the exterior walls and totally rebuilt. That kind of “clean up” has an appeal to me today.

My dad feared no man…to a fault. It sometimes got him in trouble. He had PTSD though it was never recognized in his lifetime. I know a few of his experiences and considering them it is amazing I exist at all. One does not generally survive unscathed 109 carrier based missions in WW2 (I have his log book) plus he flew 2 a day missions off Henderson Field on Guadalcanal when the Japanese still held parts of that small island. He was one of the first to fly missions there. As I said, I am lucky to be here.

Back to the present:
This morning I heard a dozen well known intelligence folk have joined with McRaven in their denunciation of trump. This is building to a very serious head and a Constitutional crisis is in the offing. It may happen that trump strips the Mueller team of their clearances in an attempt to get them to stop the investigation. I fail to see how obstruction of justice could be any more corrupt or blatant than this. If Congress fails to react to this if trump does it… then they need to be impeached to a head as well … somehow … someway … by somebody.

I should clarify that I don’t respect non-air people any less. It’s just that it’s pretty cool just to learn to fly competently, and then to be in combat and fly too, that’s really something. Today’s jet fighters, to be able to control those and fight in them, man, that’s a lot of skill married to whatever it is that enables people to keep it together in combat.

Hoo Boy…and now we have the reason why trump stripped Brennan of his clearance…

Trump: I’ve never respected John Brennan

As he departed the White House for
Marine One, President Trump made comments about John Brennan from the South
Lawn.

Source:
CNN

trump has an inability to recognize a real patriot.as opposed to a movie version of one. His reason to remove the clearance was he thinks Brennan is one of the reasons for the Russia investigation. The walls are closing in on this cornered clusterfuck.
Here’s trump’s method of “defending himself”… as I see it anyway…

On the main page under Josh’s blog he speaks of not admitting trumps guilt. Perhaps Josh has difficulty admitting it, I do not. It cannot be more obvoius in my view. And I am speaking of criminal conduct and impeachable offenses as well… trump must be removed from office.
