Trump wants to either force Wray to become a sycophant or replace him with a lackey. It’s why he’s destroyed the DOJ, State, and other former legitimate agencies.
Don’t worry about it too much, Donald. To understand Wray’s statement, one needs an IQ level of over 69.
Most of this hinges on FISA warrants. Which probably have intel that cannot be released to the public. So Congress holds closed door hearings.
Dems emerge from hearings and say “There was no spying, the FISA warrants were based on valid reasons, but we’re not allowed to tell you how we’re convinced of this.”
GOPers emerge from hearings and say “There was spying, the FISA warrants were based on invalid reasons, but we’re not allowed to tell you how we’re convinced of this.”
And the intel community has to keep their mouth shut.

Inadvertently, Trump is letting us know who in Intelligence has a modicum of integrity (Mueller, Comey, Wray, Baker, etc) versus those who don’t (Barr and Rosenstein, for example).
