I have all the emails and information and proof that this is all organic, everyone pays out of pocket… hopefully that will change and we can fundraise for our purposes, but anyone who accuses Indivisible of astroturf is a liar, a fraud and a charlatan.

***Trump's a goddamned anti-democratic vulgarian. Fuck him.***
So Trump and conservatives are back to mocking liberals for being organized? Good stuff.
Way back when I was in grade school, I earned mostly As on my report card. A couple bullies didn’t appreciate that and mocked me and a few other kids for studying, doing our homework and making good grades. That’s what this reminds me of.
The 'baggers had the rallying cry “NO OBAMACARE” but this is not a single issue wave. The people are pissed over myriad topics from the expectation that they will have safe water to drink and clean air to breath to waiting for the 25+ million jobs to be created but PeePee and his congressional minions are focused on anything but. Numerous articles this week about both Grassley and Ernst being greeted by angry farmers in Iowa - seems they feel like they may still need the ability to export their $13+ billion in agro products in order to stay afloat, not to mention the farm labor that’s now being rounded up, imprisoned and deported.
Ignore this wave at your own peril, Lord Dampnut. Sad!
I don’t even understand how it’s an insult or delegitimizing. Does organizing somehow mean people aren’t really legitimately upset?
I understand the larger theme Trump thinks he’s getting at, though. It’s both strongly hinting that these protesters are getting paid to participate by an otherwise small number of ideological agitators, and that liberals blindly subscribe to their ideology – to a team – and then act out against anything that runs against that ideology.
In both cases, I strongly suspect the Rule of Conservative Projection applies. They accuse their enemies of what they do and of what they are.
Trumps policies are applauded by conservatives activists who like lies and self centered policies. The liberal activists who show up for town hall are practicing democracy–something Trump has never heard of.
Standard conservative MO: don’t debunk the points, simply delegitimize anything/anyone you oppose.
“Obama was not born in the US”, “climate change is a hoax”, “Paid protesters”, “protesters from out of district” and now “liberal activists”.
But during the ACA townhalls, those conservatives protesters were ALL “grass root”, huh?
Who knows? Maybe we’ll look back on this period in a couple of decades (well, the part of “we” that is younger than me, anyway) and see it as a period that rejuvenated the country in response to this travesty.
