Discussion: Trump Demanded Anti-Opioids Scare Campaign: 'We Need People Dying In A Ditch'

We need to scare kids so much that they will never touch a single drug in their entire life. Next thing you know, the kids don’t want to be ‘cool’ and smoke anymore.”

Actually people are still smoking despite some of the most graphic PSA’s imaginable. Part of the reason why RJR Reynolds is till in business.

The idiot uncle’s solution who hasn’t even a scintilla of awareness about what he speaks of.

And I want rockets, lots of rockets.

I could think of one Individual 1 I’d like to see in that ditch…

Media campaigns like this are usually a waste of money—lighting a pile of dollar bills on fire would work better. Media campaigns on drugs usually proceed from someone’s notion of “common sense” even though there is a huge literature on how and when to do campaigns.

Sorry donnie, I refuse to “die in a ditch” to please you because I have chronic pain from osteoarthritis and damaged vertibrae. Go back and finish that greasy bucket of KFC.
OK??

Trump has an idiot’s level of understanding of addiction.

Grifter’s still griftin’.

It’s astounding how many of these self-hating sycophants still think this guy is some kind of genius.

Inspired by the outstanding success of Nancy Reagan’s Just Say No campaign, President Trump introduced the People Dying in a Ditch campaign.

On an unrelated note, he urged the creation of strong Federal legislation banning the sales and possession of Narcan.

I don’t think trump’s understanding rises to the level of “idiot”.

By the way, I’m still waiting for more fallout from the supposedly juicy stuff promised by the Omarosa tell-all. Guess that didn’t amount to much else either.

completely clueless (yes, we knew that already, but, still)

‘I want bodies stacked on top of bodies’ - Just wow! Sounds very Hitlerian to me.

“Do it like they did with cigarettes. They had body bags piled all over the streets and ugly people with giant holes in their faces and necks.”

I told my kids the truth as to why their aunts and uncles (on my side) were either out of work and/or look like they’re 30 years older than what they actually are (2 look like they belong in the before and after pics of meth heads). That was enough for my kids to not pick up a drink or drug in highschool. Sometimes that stuff works within families, but as a political campaign it’s just a bunch of BS.

Once again, for Cheeto Mussonlini, it’s “all about the ratings”.

sigh…

Scared straight, indeed.

Scare them straight doesn’t work. That’s a failed way to deal with the Opioid problem. Drug companies & Doctors prescribing pain medication. Have a lot to answer for. I had kidney stones & my doctor gave me pain killers. I took one & quit taking them.
