Discussion: Trump Corrects Himself: I Meant 'I Don't See Any Reason Why It WOULDN'T Be Russia'

A few more days of weather-vaning and we’ll be in quintuple negative territory, to wit:

“There ain’t no way no Russians didn’t commit no attack on our election.”*

*Adapted from Sparky Anderson: “Ain’t no way no Jack Morris ain’t gonna win no twenty games.”

Ha ha ha. You laugh or you cry. Yesterday, Trump got his message across to the people who count for him, Putin and his base of deplorables. The rest of the country can go to hell.

They just needed a hat-rack of mendacity upon which to hang all denials and subsequent obfuscations.

Sarah Sanders, sometime in the very near future: “The president clarified his remarks, I don’t know why you continue to beat this issue.”

And this explains all the other statements you made supporting Putin how? Nice try but bwhahahahahahahahahah.

Yeah, right. What about the rest of the treasonous word salads he tossed out yesterday ?

Oh My DOG! The clarification is worse than the original. I can imagine his notes look like the note he had with him when he met the shooting victims families and friends. “I have full faith…” The problem is when he talks when looking away from notes. Geebus, what a fucking moron!

“You see, what had happened was… it’s like a double negative… only it’s the absence of a negative, so…”

Oh well, that makes everything fine then. Never mind.

Asshole.

“I didn’t mean I’m a stable genius. I meant I’m a gullible stain.”

He likely denied saying it until aids showed him unedited footage. He did not read the transcript.

Come on he just misspoke there! He meant to say it couldn’t have been other people.

Oh and also the parts in Helsinki where he said No collusion? Sorry, he meant collusion. Just put a strike through every occurrence of “no” and you’ll get it, OK?

So will the press ask him then why didn’t he confront Putin over the interference and demand assurances that it wouldn’t happen again?

He’s out there now saying it could have been Russia or someone else. He won’t say it’s Russia. He will never say it’s Russia.

Preaching to the choir here, but I don’t see how this is a good move even from a PR/damage control angle. One, it’s a completely laughable excuse. More importantly, we all know he will stick to his support of the IC until whatever Hannity has to report on the deep state. This looks exactly like the Charlottesville episode, where he went out of his way to say something indefensible, gave a lame correction, and then promptly blew that up again.

Then try him for treason.

That is some fantastic prose you’ve penned right there!

Complete quote:
“I accept our intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place. Could be other people also. A lot of people out there.”

The only ‘slip of the tongue’ was 30 minutes previous, when trump was on his knees…
