Approval ratings are probably lower but some fine folks will not admit they helped screw up our country.
While sitting at a bar recently ,enjoying a Yuengling, some Trump supporter said something to me about Trump.
I informed him and his buddies that you mention Trump to me you will say,“Yellow draft dodging ,coward, sissy and UnAmerican jerk-off. Plus I am a registered Republican and I never knew a Republican that that loved Russia.”
Silence. No one said another word.
“There’s no historical reason why his ratings couldn’t go up.” Yeah, but there is a reason. People hate this guy and they think he’s a liar. People have been watching this guy for years now, and we all know who he is. People don’t trust him. We know he’s a liar. People can forgive mistakes, but when somebody loses everybody’s trust, there really isn’t any way to win that back. He’s never going to get above 50%. I’d be amazed if he ever even edges up above 40% for longer than a short spell now and again.
Those of us who revile Trump will never approve his presidency. He’s scum of the Earth.
How many of the people still in Trump’s corner won’t have the same “American hero mistreated” view of Arpaio that he does?
Sure there is. At this point, most people people think Trump is an irredeemable jackass, because he is, and possibly a Nazi sympathizer. That irredeemable means they’re not going to change their minds.
Should, but won’t. Anyone who still approves of Trump, will still approve of Arpaio too.
I think we can say, with reasonable confidence, that Trump will go low enough to move from being merely the limbo president, to become the president from hell.
Historians of the future will also note how Trump and Republicans dovetailed so naturally.
That glue was made of tea and hate-talk.
I have been saying this exact same thing to anyone who will listen, including the weird guy on the corner who talks to everyone and thinks I’m too angry.
“Conservatism is Trumpism is the GOP.” There is your message. Everything this stupid sonaofbitch does is GOP policy. He’s their party leader, they don’t disavow anything, so that means the GOP has this scumbag’s name hung around their neck. There’s no light between the two.
GOP policy is: useless, overreaching travel bans on Muslims, bans on a certain group of people who are already serving in the military, pardons for racist criminals, ignoring the rule of law and procedure, drafting bills in secret, Nazis as advisors and staffers, removing protections for consumers, selling public lands, and THE ACCEPTANCE OF WHITE SUPREMACY. (The list goes on.)
Anything less than tying him directly to the GOP is useless. You run against him by running against the new policies of the Republican Party as listed above.
MAKE THEM PAY.
Too late.
“The vast majority of Republicans support Trump…”
This is why the shit show will go on. Obviously a large swath of the American GOP public has been repeatedly dropped on their heads.
Yawn.
Free fall is the term we’re looking for. Which is why Republicans will remove him from office before the end of the year like the corrosive dead weight he is.
