Discussion: Trump Continues To Go After John Lewis: 'He Got Caught In A Very Bad Lie'

Isn’t it ironic that Congressman Lewis seems more presidential in this matter?

Yes, and I’m thinking it was sometime in my pre-teen years, maybe as early as 7 or 8, though I can’t pin it down any better than that.

CONWAY: What are the standards here. … Because I took a little peek at what the headlines about President-elect Obama were eight years ago — whew, talk about the world’s biggest disconnect. It was basically… [S]hould President-elect Obama go to Oslo now and pick up his Nobel Peace Prize or should he wait until after he’s sworn in?

“We get nothing like that,” she said. “We get no forbearance! We get nothing! We get no respect! We get no deference!”

That’s the problem with that bastard, he feels that just because he got elected everybody should be licking his boots, and all A-Listers should up show at his parties. Poor Bastard.

I get Trump, but I still do not understand the people that voted for him and still believe that he is going to deliverd them from something.

And in 2 years or so his youngest son will be 12 and probably acting more mature than Daddy. So does this make Melania a better mommy if her son is raised better than her husband?

Look, Trump doesn’t WANT to be pissed off all the time! He wants to be pissed ON.

Totally juvenile, I know… but it makes me feel better about the sinkhole this country is driving iteself into in two days.

The Orange Menace is notorious for cheating at golf. If it’s true that golf reveals something of the player’s character, PPEotUS’ game reveals him to be everything we thought he was. And worse.

I’m inclined to give Lewis the mulligan on this one. He didn’t go to 43’s inauguration, but he apparently kept it a private matter.

He is going to dissolve from criticism at this rate

See link above. Fair amount of buyers remorse. Some stupidity: “get rid of Obamacare but don’t take away ACA”.

I used to do this one thing, procrastinating to avoid a daunting task, well into my twenties. And finally I saw it was just making things worse. So I mostly stopped. Doesn’t make me a hero. But we used to be pretty clear that it was good to do that. I think with Trump, though, his popularity showed what many of us like with celebrities is their seeming to live out a fantasy of self-indulgence that we wish we could get away with. But we still don’t like that lack of discipline in people we pay to get things done. So I guess we’ll see.

He got caught grandstanding… and in a lie. Only I am permitted to grandstand and to lie. Oh, and other Republicans.

If getting caught in bad lies means anything, then the multiple huge lies Trump has told to get elected in themselves disqualify him from office. What is gained through fraud is not rightfully gained. That’s common law. Trump cannot, at this point, become a legitimate president.

Those who “respect the office” can only do so by recognizing that this “man” is not worthy of it.

John Lewis attended all the inaugurations for legitimate winners. George W. Bush and the Asshole-elect are not legitimate winners.

I think it’s more a case of people noticing that no one’s buying coal, the car plants aren’t reopening, their kids and grandkids are still dating brown people–and Trump is still taking victory laps.

Bad lie? Where the f*ck are your tax returns? Then we can all talk about big lies.

I think he just grandstanded, John Lewis, and then he got caught in a very bad lie, so let’s see what happens,” Trump continued. “As far as other people not going, that’s OK, because we need seats so badly, I hope they give me their tickets.” (PeePee)

Holy Frick – projection, projection and big-ass lie. Your people are jokes, Herr PeePee – you can’t even GIVE away those tickets. Your people have been cold-fishing through Facebook, searching for young people who fit your base’s demographic – imploring them to accept tickets to your coronation! LOL – literally, laughing at you!!*

*Sorry, Mom, I know that I’m making fun of a mentally challenged person here – but he’s also a proud, hateful asshole.

Hilarious. Wonder if there’s a way to track them under new accounts as they shut their old ones down to disown their stupidity.

"So, he got caught, and it’s pretty bad, and it’s making him look bad, frankly.”

Yeah, being a 70-year old man about to be sworn in as the goddamn President on Day 5 of a Twitter beef looks fine, by comparison.

Man, in ten years, I want to look back and kick myself for overreacting so badly, but holy shit.

And keep the government out of my Medicare. Is that so hard?
