They think that because Lieberman is nominally a democrat, the Dems can’t oppose him. They don’t remember just how bad it was before Joe got primaried and left the Senate, to every Dem’s delight.
Their other choice is Frank Keating, former Republican governor of Oklahoma, because he used to be an FBI officer. Yeah, he’ll be neutral and non-political.
