Question: Was there this level of outrage over the Bush family’s foundation when George W Bush became president?

IIRC, his family members remained on that charity’s governing board even after he assumed office, and I don’t recall any scrutiny or innuendo aimed in that direction.

Donnie…you really don’t care about the news if it doesn’t center on you…you really didn’t watch John Oliver last night did you?

So typical. I’ve read a couple of commentators, not right-wingers, who have serious concerns about the foundation and think Clinton should shut it down. So there’s a legitimate case an opponent could make about cronyism or whatever. But Trump has to talk about it in these lurid hyperbolic ways that just make his argument ridiculous, especially when he’s dripping in muck like the Creature from the Black Lagoon himself. Silly Goopers! Shoulda gone with Kasich, woulda shoulda coulda, la la la whistling innocently…

If Hillary had taken classes at Trump University, she would have known how to run a business without ever getting caught.

So, who is supposed to be in charge of ‘shuttering’ the Clinton Foundation?

It seems to me that the matter of the Clinton Foundation was up to Obama while Clinton was SoS. The Foundation is no secret—unlike almost every aspect of Trump’s business dealings.
As SoS, Clinton carried out Obama’s executive directions.
As President, she would have more authority, and the bar can be set higher. This seems to me like a reasonable way to handle the issue.

I totally disagree that the Clinton’s need to shut the Foundation down entirely. If the issue is that foreign entities can no longer make donations, I can see that aspect of it. But the Foundation has done good work, long before Madame Secretary became SoS. It should continue in some fashion.

Dick Cheney wasn’t attacked for his blatant and upfront association with Halliburton when he invaded Iraq.

Wait, Donnie. Are they as corrupt as a serial bankrupt who has made a standard practice of stiffing contractors, and who attempted to steal $1 million for Veteran’s charities?

I do not see the big deal with this. It is a charity group. There would be an issue if people giving to the group could be proven to be given benefits based on their donation but there is nothing like that. And it is not like Trumps companies have a good record when you want to consider the number of contractors or workers he has abandoned when convenient for Trump.
