The opposite of a “limp and flaccid republican”?

Dear Editor
Isn’t it “fixated on” or “transfixed by”?

“Your Honor, I object!”
‘On what grounds?’

“On the grounds that all this evidence is making my client look guilty.”

Yet he improves in the polls and does everything in his power to diminish the population at large’s confidence in our systems. Diminish confidence in systems and errod our representative democracy. What will happen if the “blue wave” holds to be true? Will the violence against all things non trump spike?

I don’t know. I can’t even come up with any snark for it. It’s all just so damn ridiculous.

@maximus Bravo!

This is the predictable next stage–discredit the elections, claim they are the result of a conspiracy/fake voters, “rigged,” and then try to make an argument for not seating newly elected Democrats. I can see it coming

Shorter Trump: If the voters ever find out the truth about me, I’m a dead duck.

I’ve known people subjected for years to psychological abuse by a spouse, a superior at work, a parent. Once they’re removed from the toxic relationship there are years of anguish over the traumas suffered. Many are sort of permanently rewired, their brains not quite right again, their ability to work, or form relationships, or interact with others almost irretrievably altered for the worst.

I think as a nation Trump may be damaging society in a similar fashion. Long after he’s gone the poison he spreads will course through the nation’s veins.

For myself I despised Nixon. I do to this day. And I haven’t really trusted a republican office holder or seeker since at least 1970. So yeah I did get altered in my thinking.
Good observation.

Kremlin officials on Tuesday called the investigation into possible collusion between Russia’s government and President Trump’s campaign pointless, comparing the probe to “passing water through a sieve.”

In a statement to reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov added that there was “hope” that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation would conclude soon and “one day” proclaim both Russia and the Trump administration’s innocence, according to Reuters.

It is pretty obvious the government has done nothing to stop Putin from influencing our midterms. That and Democratic complacency are my greatest fears. The Republican party seems to be cracking around the edges and it is hard to find anyone who will admit to actually supporting Trump these days.

That innocence is about as likely as frozen water passing thru that Russian sieve.

This is your Public Service Reminder that Russia’s intelligence agencies hacked the US’s democratic elections - i.e., they attacked the US - to manipulate and rig the outcome, and that Donald Trump aided, abetted, and conspired with Russia to attack the US for his own benefit and profit, thereby making him a traitor to the country.

This has been a Public Service Announcement.
