Discussion: Trump Chooses Admin Official To Fill Kavanaugh's Appeals Court Seat

Do, not think. I’d prefer a blanket mass resignation for everyone Trump nominated and McConnell got approved. Then they’re creds and actions could be reviewed, and if found to be acceptable by an impartial but left leaning group, they could be reinstated without prejudice. But those judges, no, they all gotta go.

Funny, I see no mention of her ever being a judge. Is that important?

That’s actually a feature, not a bug, for this administration. The less experience the better!

Robert H. Jackson, one of the best SC justices, wasn’t even a lawyer.

This is telling. No looks like Judge Pirro will be tapped to be Attorney General.

The quiet coup d’etat proceeds unimpeded and under the radar.

“Robert H. Jackson, one of the best SC justices, wasn’t even a lawyer.”

10 Second Google Search informs me that this is incorrect. He didn’t have a law degree, but he was most definitely a lawyer. He was also solicitor general and attorney general before confirmation to SCOTUS. Seriously qualified, in other words,

It’s not necessarily disqualifying that she has no previous experience as a judge. The fact that she appears to be a Federalist society selected political hack with no courtroom experience of any kind is VERY concerning, though.

Clerked for Thomas…all you need to know.

“Each summer, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas invites his four new law clerks to his home to watch a movie. Not just any movie, but the 1949 film version of the classic of libertarian conservatism, Ayn Rand’s “The Fountainhead.””

And the “drilling” scene from that same movie…

She is on the “Kavanaugh Route,” Hyperpartisan GOP operative to the D.C. Circuit.

With possible nomination for SCOTUS should another “opportunity” arise.

You make that sound as a bad thing ?

Not really necessary. Earl Warren had not been a judge when he was appointed SCOTUS Chief. Was always an officeholder. Gov of California at the time. He turned into a pretty influential champion of individual rights. Right WIngers despised him. John Birch Society used to have billboards all over calling for his impeachment. There was one in Northern Maryland, on US 15 for years. Stayed up for a while even after his retirement.
