Discussion for article #228783
But, but, but, I thought that everything that The Donald touched turned to gold. My whole world is shattered by this revelation. Whatever am I to do?
This is the Bankruptcy of Hostess all over again. Those mean old unions won’t give up all their pay and benefits.
Shorter Trump: “We’ll never be able to emerge from bankruptcy if we’re required to actually pay our employees.”
Trump Casinos Going Bankrupting Try To Axe Union Contract
Somebody needs more coffee…
The corporate filth always runs to innocent employee pensions…Where’s the corporate SCOTUS regarding this theft of future retired employee speech?
Want people to have enough money to gamble? Simple: Quit supporting policies that redistribute all of the country’s wealth into your grubby plutocrat hands without you having to work for it, Fuckface.
Yeah, shouldn’t that be “a-bankrupting”…sort of like going “a-wassailing”?
There is nothing…absolutely nothing…that the plutocrat filth find more galling than serfs being paid when they’re not laboring and, especially, when their useful labor life is over. As with every paycheck you receive, they NEVER stop considering it THEIR money. EVER. EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER. You are being allowed to borrow it for as long as it takes you to put it back in the economy where they can continue to play Hungry Hungry Hippos with it…and that includes the fact that the stagnation of middle-class wages over the past few decades was part of the deliberate attempt to shift our country from manufacturing to the world hub of financial services, where the only thing manufactured is consumer debt. You see, if they can pay you so little that you have to live your life on consumer debt, they can recoup the costs by investing in consumer debt products and all the lovely derivatives, hedge funds and other machinations involved. It was to be the new version of the “virtuous cycle,” but instead of you being paid enough to outright afford the product itself, you were to be paid just enough to service the debt it would require for you to purchase it. Neat trick, eh? And look at the wonderous brave new world it built us!
Yesssss! I knew it was wanting a little something as a TPM headline, and I think you nailed it!
ANOTHER Donald Dump bankruptcy? Is there anything he’s not run into bankruptcy?
Why is this news?
That is the first move of every bankrupt company. Amazing how many companies Trump runs into the ground and the bankers still lend him money. I wonder if it is the hair.
Is there a detailing (pie chart, etc) of where the casino revenue goes? It would be interesting to see.
I thought casinos had a license to make money by the bucket-full. Is this a skimming problem, padded-costs problem, executive pay problem, interest payment problem, etc? Or, does it really take a lot of staff costs to run a casino these days?
Oh please, Fungus Hair. Run for POTUS! Preferably with Terd Nugget as your running mate.
I think what’s hurting this casino, and the Atlantic City casinos in general, is the proliferation of nearby competition. In recent years, voters have approved casinos in Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio, and New York. Also, various Indian tribes have expanded their operations.
Despite the promises of many casino supporters, who claimed that revenues from legalized gambling would be a growing and reliable source of funding for schools and other government needs, the fact remains that there are only so many gamblers, and expanding gaming is only slicing the pie into ever-smaller slices.
