“Hi, 911? Yeah, can you send a couple of cops over in about 2 weeks? I think I’m going to get rip snortin’ blotto and totally trash the neighborhood. Could be either Friday or Saturday, not sure yet.”
I don’t know why?
oh yes you do. lol lol lol
I cant imagine any reason for him not to resign. He’s allowed to do it.
As long as that boarder pays the rent.
He’s saving “National Emergency” for when he needs a distraction just short of starting a war.
I actually hope that time for needing a big distraction comes very soon.
What I meant to say was “Can’t Imagine Any Reason’ To Declare Emergency”…
Egermency!
Grima better looking than Steven Miller , don’t you agree
Donald Dotardius Trump
Took Pelosi and Schumer for chumps.
Until Chuck and Nancy
Pulled down his pants, si!
And shoved the Wall right up his rump!
Well, not quite everybody…did you see the heading on the screenshot? His handlers at Faux are screaming at him, through their propaganda, that it is indeed a crisis.
It’s Mueller Friday time again… Trump’s just waiting for which Friday Mueller drops the next round of indictments and evidence of NO COLLUSION! to declare his emergency, hoping that the news of the emergency will drown out the news of russia.
So…it hit me…he has moved on from pussies. This is what he would be saying to billy bush today about congress and his base:
Wait…are you saying that the collusion isn’t between the Democrats and the media???
Faux knows better also. They are just hoping to con the more gullible in his base. Part of his base think it is funny when he lies but part of his base are true believers and are beginning to wonder where the scaravans went.
That was exactly was crossed my mind…his comments about grabbing them by the pussy, but in this case he’s grabbing power because he believes he can do whatever he wants. Its a theme with this guy. I believe they call it megalomania.
Perfect comparison, but sweet FSM I detest that movie.*
adore the books
I would suggest we rename that mania…trumpmania…but that would make him happy because his name is on yet another thing.
I liked the first one…then they took a turn for the worst.
I’m finding it difficult to see how a national emergency declaration helps Trump at all. It will enrage and unite Democrats; lawsuits will immediately be filed to stop it in court; potentially affected people will rally against eminent domain and go after the gov’t in court and at the local level; he won’t get the money he needs; his attempt to get money will divide his WWC base, as when you’re messing with Texas and Florida you might not like the results if you’re a Republican. It will make him look weaker because it will prove he can’t get anything done and that our government is too complex an entity for a moron to be running it. None of this theatre stops Robert Mueller or the SDNY btw.
It seems to me the better move would be to ‘Take the L’ and move on. Our system is designed such that Presidents take their fair share of losses in the legislative process. Losing is not uncommon or novel. It’s part of the process.
Mitch McConnell’s strategy to hew closely to Trump and make him walk the plank first has badly damaged his Senate caucus. Democratic challengers will run campaigns modeled after Kyrsten Sinema, appeal to people as problem solving pragmatists who care about their states as a whole and will beat many of these guys, enough to win full control of the body. McConnell has reminded people why they hated the 2017-18 GOP Congress so much. They were too close to Trump! Well you can’t get any closer to Trump than Mitch and the Senate GOP are now. They’re basically in his suit. Even if this shutdown ends by Monday, Democratic challengers are now on alert and can raise intensity levels and money off of this foolishness. The GOP will not have the money to keep up with the Democrats in the '19-'20 election cycle. It might be Mitch’s worst move as majority leader.
If Trump keeps huffing and puffing like this and doesn’t deliver, he puts himself in a worse spot. Chris Christie might be the type of guy to tell Trump the jig is up on this shutdown. Christie is an idiot too who squandered political capital at a breathtaking pace, but he’s rational and I don’t think he’d be afraid to tell Trump his opinion on something. We’ll see how this goes, but yesterday was a pretty bad day for Trump given the public’s awareness and sensitivity to the shutdown.
I’d also add that the arguments in the last 24 hours that Dems could take these same precedents and use it to declare a real national emergency on things like climate change or health care are also very real considerations.
