“#cantfillstadium”
It’s called “propaganda.”
Hate to quibble, shitgibbon, but that biggest tax cut hasn’t been enacted. You can spend a million and a half bucks to say what you’re going to do or what you’d like to do, but that seems expensive to me when every slacker teen does it for free. OTOH there’s plenty of room for kickback money in a $1.5 million invoice.
Only Hitler had bigger rallies.
Variety: Trump in Slump, Thumps Tambourine
10 Mil “Clap louder” campaign centered on sold-out stadium venue; books Tinkerbell as spox…
You made me think up a challenge: Get Trump to say something positive about Hitler.
Actually it should be easy, if you can only get Trump to talk (or tweet) about him.
The real challenge would be to find a Republican in Congress who would break off support for Trump over a positive statement about Hitler.
A real softball would be to ask Trump what he thinks of all the Republicans who compare Obama to Hitler.
$1.5 Million. Could have bought a lot of health screenings for women. Or a lot of food for hungry children. Or teeth for his hillbilly followers…
I would not be surprised to hear he’s working on a book within the first 2 years titled something like “My Struggle.”
HELL NO. Trump doesn’t struggle.
Maybe “My 1,000 year plan for America, in which works makes us free”.
Ok, this one is for real. Trump speaks of how Andrew Jackson was heartbroken by the Civil War. To be fair, he acknowledges at first that Jackson wasn’t contemporaneous, but then the dementia kicked in.

I have been in that arena for PA state high school basketball finals and seen more spectators.
And I 'm surprised they went there. It is old and rather run down. Dirt floor, old seats. It is not a “Trump quality” facility.
He can fund the ads with the money he saved by canceling the advertising for ACA enrollment.
Back in what are now (unbelievably) the NOT-so-bad old days of GW Bush, I would frantically reach for the volume if a clip of the massive putz slipped by into my stream. His speaking was like a knitting needle to the eardrum slipping into the brain. Even worse than that torture, his ill-gotten post, his masters and their horrendously destructive regime were and remain a national shame and embarrassment. But despite the war, death, societal regression, global dysfunction and Wall Street-fueled disembowelment of the US Treasury and economies the world over, somehow we made it without a nuclear winter.
Now, this f-ing twisted idiot and the sinister machine in which he is a clattering cog; this is truly the stuff of nightmares.
And so, thank you, TPM, for not going with auto-plays. I did not hit play on that evil, insulting and embarrassing crap, because it goes without saying (or viewing), that’s what it is.
Short of open and more than restive rebellion (and what a police state mess that would be), can we even begin to slow the big flush of reason and reasoned representation? Best I can come up with is rolling boycotts and strategically-targeted mass popular strikes. Oh, and some hyper-honest bad-ass to figurehead it all. … Anybody seen Klaatu around lately? Or a Thor type might work. I mean, they’re using a con artist huckster and hack reality TV personality. (If you wanna call that a ‘personality’.) And that repulsive orange f-ker is crazy.
TPM should come with a virtual blood pressure monitor, to warn you how many points your pressure will rise after reading the story.
I went to this great art show once. All the pictures were by adults with Down Syndrome. As soon as I walked in, a woman grabbed me by the arm and pulled me to a wall and said “Buy my picture!!”
It was very charning and refreshing from her. From the president of the United States it’s just pathetic and scary.
Just like something the Dear Leader (or whatever they call him) in Pyongyang would force on the populace. We are really heading down a dark road with this idiot in charge.
This is his 2020 re-election campaign.
Appalachia has always been at war with Coastal Elites.
"People don't ask that question, but why was there the Civil War? Why could that one not have been worked out?"

Dunning was never so Krugered. He’s colossally ignorant of his own colossal ignorance. Always some appalling lack of knowledge is presented as a thing nobody knows. But if I ran out on the street, screaming and firing a gun in the air out of a wholly justified concern about the situation, I’d be the one locked up. I ask you.
Do they realize the term “biggest tax cut in American history” will be regarded by future historians looking back on the Trump disaster as one very clear proof that, at this moment in that history, we were heading in the wrong direction, protecting easy money profiteers and their bottom lines, instead of trying to actually fix our real global and domestic problems?
Rule by greed… we are there, again… Trump brought the robber barron era back to life, and their worst victims voted him in.
Go figure.
Arcane eras of isolation created enclave legacies that the internet now overrides.
But until the worldwideweb, the isolation ruled.
It is only now changing. But it is a profound change, possibly in the “singularity” category, only historians of the future will be able to discern the depth of that progress.
