Translated Trump: “Saudi Arabia can kill whoever it wants so long as we can profit from doing business with them!”

Funny thing, Toadpole, but the rights and protections granted in the US constitution do not limit those rights to US citizens. Similarly, the Magnitsky act, does not limit sanctions to US citizen victims. Indeed, the “Magnitsky” whom the law is named for was a Russian citizen killed in a Russian prison.

And Toadpole Toddler, the Magnisky act was invoked today for Khashoggi and you will have to at least pretend to invsestigate. Send the FBI judge vetting team.

This guy was murdered basically for writing pieces that criticized the Saudi Royal Family. This is 100% in direct opposition with everything that America (and its president) is supposed to stand for.

We’re looking for an answer, and we’re going to keep looking and we’re not going to stop looking until the instant this thing blows over. Thank you very much.

Donald Trump adores the idea that a country can be less a sovereign nation-state and more the autocratic estate of a rich and powerful family. He’s pretty big into Duterte and Putin, but this whole sham election thing? Kind of a lot of work to accomplish what you really want to do, which is wave at the little people in the countryside and say to your friends (you have a lot of friends, more friends than anyone else, you wouldn’t even believe it!): “All those people out there? Yeah, it’s pretty amazing, I own 'em”

Of course he won’t push back against Saudi Arabia.

"We don’t like it, and we don’t like it even a little bit,” he said, before adding that he didn’t want to prevent “$110 billion from being spent in this country,” referencing the U.S. arms deal with Saudi Arabia.

Bad enough he’s not going to let a human life get in the way of doing some business. The worse thing is our IS knew this guy was under a threat, and as a permanent resident he was supposed to be protected and should have been warned. How did that not happen? Because it’s one thing to be unconcerned about a nation simply whacking people around the globe. It’s another to be complicit in it.

I hate to ever agree with the Asshole-elect, but in this case he’s right. Whatever happened, happened in Turkey ands the victim(?) is a Saudi? What business is it of ours?

He’ll send the crack investigation team as soon as they get back from Hawaii.

He was also employed by the Washington Post which ought to matter since they are obviously an American company.

Dumbest man alive. He shouldn’t even be talking about this. He just needs to say that we’re in the investigative phase and we’ll see what needs to be done once we learn more. That’s the correct response in any case because presidents shouldn’t be creating foreign policy on live TV, and it’d save him from looking like a total stooge in front of the world.

Of course we’re not going to punish them because we desperately need their money and this guy’s a nobody. Trump’s so incredibly corrupt that he openly admits it’s all about money and fails to see the problem. He’s not personal friends with the journalist and he needs Saudi cash, so that’s the end of the story as far as he’s concerned. He’s too clueless to even know why he should play along or keep his mouth shut.

He’s a permanent resident and we’re supposed to be concerned about the welfare of people who live here. Secondly he was entitled to a warning about this as a permanent resident, legally entitled, because intelligence services knew he was under threat. Thirdly we’re supposed to be concerned as a civilized nation with nations that simply send assassination teams to kill critics around the world, cut up their bodies, and smuggle them away while pretending to be diplomats. Other than that, excellent post.

Codicil to the translation: Besides providing me with my first Presidential mimicking appearance, they have bailed out Jared’s family. Believe me, I am a NYC developer, and I know how great being bailed out by Foreign Money can be. And you gotta show some loyalty after a thing like that…
