Here is the thing though.
All of these people wanting Trump to “pivot”, are basically just concerned with the attacks on the Khan family, and shockingly enough, even more concerned about the attacks on Ryan and McCain.
So say Trump stopped talking about the Khans two days ago. And didn’t go after Ryan or McCain.
Everything that is left is still incredibly toxic and disastrous to a campaign. Kicking a baby out of a campaign rally? Taking a Purple Heart medal? Attacking a fire marshal whose department literally just saved him an hour earlier? And lets not forget the ever broadening Russia scandal.
With Trump, there simply isn’t anything better to pivot towards.Hell, if anything the Khan story is helping to keep all of these other terrible stories off of the front pages. If you start listing off every reprehensible thing he has done…just since the conventions…people won’t even let you finish before throwing their arms up in protest for you to stop.
