What makes you think that most of those people were not Bernie supporters to begin with?
LOL…pretty much.
No, actually very few did. However, a whole boatload of white women DID vote for Trump.
You know who really voted for Trump in large numbers, much more than either Bernie supporters or white women?
White men.
But sure, let’s spend our energy arguing whether to be most angry at Bernie-to-Tump voters or Obama-to-Trump voters or third party voters or white college educated women because they should have known better, or black voters because they failed to turn out in as high numbers as they had for Obama, or young people for their usual poor turnout numbers…and so on.
I’m sure this kind of conversation will be very fruitful and super-helpful in winning the 2020 race.
Or we could try moving on from 2016 and not constantly looking to pour salt in each other’s wounds at every opportunity and instead focusing on defeating Trump. I know that sounds crazy, but it might just work!
Spend some time waiting in any barber shop and you’ll know what dumb asses white guys can be.
They know it all. Just ask 'em.
“Wildly out of touch”? Speak for yourself!
Sanders has bad hair and took a long time to release his tax returns. Plus he’s married to his wife. And he refused to vote for Clinton in the 2016 primaries (and especially in the caucuses). Plus his supporters are sore losers whereas Clinton’s supporters, now even four years later, are still the epitome of magnanimity.
I guess the dumbass white guys around your way must be a bit more introverted. Because around here, you don’t have to ask…they put their dumbassery on display without any prompting.
Yea, verily, poopy. Here, too and I live in Fox/Trump country. Oy. Fatuity on display. Kruger/Dunning where art thou?
From my limited experience, it is more likely that the “Bernie supporters” who voted for Trump were never actually Bernie supporters to begin with. They may have been a little bit(quite little) “Bernie curious”, but their interests were virulently anti-Hillary, and their pro-Bernie sentiments generallyly came out in conversations with likely D voters.
And they are fucking tickled pink that Trump is in the White House.
Interesting. I don’t know anyone myself who made that rather bizarre journey (from Bernie to Trump). Even the people I know who didn’t care for HRC’s policies, still knew that Trump was much worse and in the end, voted for her. It sucks that even that effort wasn’t enough to overcome her liabilities as a candidate. I definitely don’t know ANYONE who is happy about Trump being in the WH.
I didn’t phrase that clearly enough … It wasn’t that they supported Bernie and voted Trump. It’s that they pretended to be interested when talking with their “lib” associates and acquaintances. Interested enough to maybe switch parties, maybe. With, I presume, the intention of muddying the waters in the D primary season.
Genuinely anti-Clinton and all-in with the Clinton Cash crowd. They were going to vote GOP all along.
A small sample, but valid for that sample.
Why do you think so many white women voted for Trump? Russian Facebook ads showing Hillary boxing with Jesus? Or was it her policy positions and history?
