Discussion: Trump Attacks 'Witch Hunt,' Ignores Cohen & Manafort At Rally

O’Donnell said tonight there is collusion here: Trump colluded with Cohen and the guy at the Enquirer on an interstate level to pay off people with damaging information that might have cost him the election, were the information made known.

I have to wonder with all the information that was revealed that we all thought surely would have prevented his election, whether knowing this would have made any difference.

@valgalky23, what the hell else could they run with tonight? The news cycle has not been kind to Faux today. They cannot spin this anymore.

Puppy bowl may become the broadcast standard in a few weeks.

Given the events of the day, while I would like THE WORLD-WIDE ASSHOLE to metaphorically bury his head in the sand, I would vastly prefer he merely reinsert his head deeply up his ass.

The Dotard is now an unindicted co-conspirator in felonies against federal law. Apparently there are witches everywhere in this witch hunt, and two more were convicted today.

RESIGN Dotus. NOW. Vacate the White House so we can fumigate.

Before we write off the Dotus and install The Human Q-Tip, I hope Mueller is also looking closely at possible involvement of The Human Q-Tip in actions that may reach the threshold of High Crimes and Misdemeanors. I think it would be best to impeach them both and place a Democratic Speaker of the House in the presidency.

I assume you all realize that the Speaker of the House does not need to be elected to Congress in order for the House to name the individual as Speaker. Now consider the irony if the woman who won the popular vote in 2016 were to be offered and accept the Speakership only to be named POTUS upon the removal from office of Dotus and Q-Tip. Yes, this is a fantasy, but I would savor hearing Hillary Clinton laugh at Dotus’s demise. I would also celebrate the fact that someone far more than competent would be in the White House.

I honestly don’t know as I thought the Access Hollywood tape would have ended the Trump candidacy. I do now wonder, however, whether small numbers of Trump’s base will start to peel off. There have to be some of them who are having doubts when they see the sheer number of his business and personal associates who have pleaded guilty or been convicted of felonies.

Going to be a tough ride home for donnie….when he gets to catch up on the latest from Cohen’s attorney about how much Cohen knows, and how willing he is to disclose it. Heh….a very good day indeed.

I’ll bet Ivanka, Jared, Eric, and Don Jr. will be laying really low in the next few days. (Do we have a statement from Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell? That’s going to be a really rough spin.)

Any question left that Individual-1 lives in an alternate reality?

Ryan apparently said something to the effect of, we’re not in session now so I don’t have all the facts/access to my members so I can’t comment yet.

Lawrence just played some of the tape of Lindsay Graham’s speech about impeachment of Bill Clinton. Here is an excerpt, but honestly you should read the whole thing (link below the excerpt). It is stunning. And Lindsay is going to wish he never said it. Can’t wriggle his way out of this one.

"So, the point I’m trying to make is you don’t even have to be convicted of a crime to lose your job in this constitutional republic if this body determines that your conduct as a public official is clearly out of bounds in your role.

Thank God you did that.

Because impeachment is not about punishment. Impeachment is about cleansing the office. Impeachment is about restoring honor and integrity to the office. The remedy of prosecuting William Jefferson Clinton has no affect on the problem you are facing here today in my opinion."

I particularly liked the big sign behind the stage saying “Trump Digs Coal.”

Do they have chain gang coal miners?

Thanks. I do watch O’Donnell’s show and saw part of Lindsey Graham’s public comments about Bill Clinton’s impeachment. If I could, I would follow Graham around in DC and SC and play that speech loudly in a continuous loop.

Sounds wimpy, like he’s phoning it in.

good. I love hearing that

Trump is very afraid of what happened with Cohen today, as he is now exposed as part of a criminal conspiracy to violate campaign finance rules in order to turn the election. It must have been enough of a shock for someone to tell him to shut up about Cohen, and the entire group must be quaking in fear of what happens next. It will be interesting to see how the conservative world tries to spin this…I’m sure they will come up with something amazing.

I think Trump would have lost if this had come out before the election. Sure, Trump’s rabid base would not have blinked, but there are still enough people who remember Nixon, and the idea of putting another criminal in the White House would not have appealed to them. At least some of them had been propagandized into believing Hillary was a criminal, if Trump was as well then they wouldn’t have voted. Now that this is coming out I’m hoping it really angers the voters, who finally see all the things that the Republicans have been doing and punish them for their bad behavior. We’ll find out in a couple months if that’s going to happen.

Witches. Witches everywhere.

Well, son, it’s like this – there’s witches, and then there’s sons of witches.

I think I see where you went wrong:

Graham’s implicit assertion here is that the Office needed to be cleansed because it was being dirtied by a Democrat.

No Democrat? No problem. Just wipe your shoes before you enter and you’re good.

ETA: Sorry for the ambiguity in my post. The quote is from Lindsay Graham, and there’s a nested blockquote in there to indicate that.

You’re being funny, right?

I do wish you’d attributed the “cleansing of office” to Lindsay, and not me. Oof. But, I get your point. I also stand by my words that today was a turning point the likes of which we have not seen. But….I have been wrong before. Duh.
